When Bee-John finally arrived (having gotten lost taking the wrong freeway – the Martin Luther King Freeway [which I’ve never taken by the way], he picked us up at Von’s and we caught up with him for a bit. He told us of the house he’s living at several miles away, which is hella far away, requiring a bike ride two blocks to a bus stop, and a bus (the 41) that’s extremely far away on Genessee. Sad Times and Fail on his part. His best friend Neema also came and we debated politics for a bit, before walking back to my place. Having called Adam to figure out dinner plans, we asked him if Tofu House was okay, and he replied by saying “SURE! Me and Jessica love tofu house!”. We all drove down to Tofu House, waited an hour for the late Adam and Jessica, who upon arrival realized they didn’t have cash with them (the place only takes cash). It turns out that they in fact had lied and never been to Tofu House at all, instead being extremely tired from moving out the morning of. Subsequently Adam decided not to ultimately eat (instead chowing down some delicious McDonald’s later). With all of us consuming our spicy and medium meals, our stomachs were ultimately content. Adam and Jessica told us depressing stories at the same time about their lives and roommate drama mildly amusing us all. When the two departed to Wal-Mart to get cash, we all subsequently paid for our meals, before getting back on the road with Bee-John. He ran a red light, and was a pretty bad driver all around, but it was pretty funny for him to keep swerving around the road like that. When we got back to my place, we started playing a game of Bang (which I won as Renagade surprisingly), and started playing a game of Monopoly. Adam and Jessica eventually joined us to give Bee-John’s friend the money he had lent them, and we continued our immediate, yet entertaining game where Bee-John eventually proved himself to be a triumphant tycoon in the end. Adam and Jessica interjected a few times making several political comments in regards to “RON PAUL WOULDN’T APPROVE”, among other things. It was kind of annoying yet kind of funny. By the end of the night, the reunion had happened, Bee-John left to go home and away forever, and dropped me and Geetha back at her place where we started watching Crash to end the night. It was a relatively entertaining movie, but we didn’t even get to finishing it all.

| On this day in 1886, Apache chief Geronimo surrenders to U.S. government troops. For 30 years, the mighty Native American warrior had battled to protect his tribe’s homeland; however, by 1886 the Apaches were exhausted and hopelessly outnumbered. General Nelson Miles accepted Geronimo’s surrender, making him the last Indian warrior to formally give in to U.S. forces and signaling the end of the Indian Wars in the Southwest. How depressing. |

| For all that was new about Mitt Romney speaking before a tea party crowd, the most striking fact was how little was different. Aside from a new line about his short time spent in public office, when Romney spoke to a tea party rally in Concord, New Hampshire, he stuck with the same pro-business message he’s used at campaign events across the country. Last week the former Massachusetts governor changed his schedule twice in one day to accommodate tea party events, but he signaled Sunday he would not change his message to appeal more directly to the group’s base. TOO BAD HE’s AN EFFiNG LIAR. |
