We then got on the 921a, which took us straight to Mira Mesa, where we adventured to find a quick Barnes and Nobles. First though, we settled on eating at Buca de Beppo which was relatively delicious. We ordered two small plates, which proved to be ginormous both in size and quantity. We could not finish, took our leftovers to go, and proceeded for a reading splurge at Barnes and Nobles. While Geetha read some books about architecture and a kidnapped child, I settled for reading several magazines as well as the continuation of self-help advice books. I finished “The Happiness Project”, which I had started the last time I was there. When we got tired, we went to Ross so I could find a bathroom, and then proceeded for the bus, where we both fell asleep. Unfortunately for some reason the bus made a enormously loud sound everytime somebody bothered to pull the cord. It was really annoying and kept waking us up. We went back to campus to put some stuff back into Geetha’s place, before we proceeded to the Ralph’s shopping complex to 1) Get some delicious Chipotle and 2) Splurge at Marshall’s for a bit (even though neither of us actually bought anything).
By this point, we settled on watching a movie, so we proceeded back to my place, where Lauren talked to us for a bit, we ate some chocolate, Tim helped me set up the DVD Player, and we watched 1 episode of 24. When that was all over, I bused Geetha back on over to campus where we talked and chilled for the rest of the night. The end.

| The American Revolution officially comes to an end when representatives of the United States, Great Britain, Spain and France sign the Treaty of Paris on this day in 1783. The signing signified America’s status as a free nation, as Britain formally recognized the independence of its 13 former American colonies, and the boundaries of the new republic were agreed upon: Florida north to the Great Lakes and the Atlantic coast west to the Mississippi River. The events leading up to the treaty stretched back to April 1775, on a common green in Lexington, Massachusetts, when American colonists answered King George III’s refusal to grant them political and economic reform with armed revolution. On July 4, 1776, more than a year after the first volleys of the war were fired, the Second Continental Congress officially adopted the Declaration of Independence. Five difficult years later, in October 1781, British General Charles Lord Cornwallis surrendered to American and French forces at Yorktown, Virginia, bringing to an end the last major battle of the Revolution. | Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.), an official candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, slammed the US Department of Labor’s August unemployment report in a statement from National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton. “The August national unemployment rate of 9.1 percent is another unfortunate chapter in the Obama administration’s almost superhuman mishandling of the economy,” Paul’s campaign said. With the unemployment report hanging over investors’ heads, the stock market tumbled today. With just under 20 minutes to go before the closing bell, stocks are trading lower across all the major stock indexes. The DJIA is down 251 points, the S&P is down 30 points and the NASDAQ is down 58 points. The stock market was expected to trade lower as the unemployment report spoiled any chance of a positive end to the week after being released prior to the opening bell. It’s so sad how true he is. |
