Today is the start of two weeks right here on campus: Earl Warren Week & Earth Week. I did my part to celebrate both said “weeks”. I went to work at EH&S, and then went to work at SRC. I printed out some interesting Earl Warren Supreme Court game at work, and cut it out in preparation for the Earl Warren Week event that would happen later that night. After helping to clean up the tables at the Own Your Impact Resource Fair on library walk with Mandy, Yu-Ting, and Sylvia, I went back to the office going over hootsuite updates with Mandy. When all was done, I left, ate some Panda Express, and then went back to my room, resting for a bit, and downloaded a ton of Itouch applications. Flashforward to the Earl Warren week event, where I had a little bit of fun.
In attendance in terms of PAW members were: Kunal, Amul, Alex, Katie, Jake, Amy, Julia, Rosario, Jon Kaslow, Wanting, Sid, & Shirley. I did a variety things at the event, including inviting people to come play my Supreme Court cases game (where they had to match landmark supreme court cases to the decade in which it occured). It’s so sad to see how little American history people know. Tsk Tsk. Oh well. I also talked to Daniel and Julia for a bit, threw some balls at Amy and Julia, as well as the Earl Warren pins of justice which I have taken a picture of for today. I missed a couple times, with Sid and Henry assisting me in relocating the ball. At one point I accidentally hit a random girl in the face throwing the balls, and for that I was sincerely sorry. I also talked to Michelle and Louise for a bit, as well as went outside to yell at people to COME GET FREE PIZZA, when our event had low turnout. That low turnout shifted to high turnout with the demanding from me to pizza of getting Costco pizza. After all that was done, it was time for clean-up. FUN STUFF. I went to Earl’s with Amul, and then CV to swipe for Lauren who lost her I.D. card. In the process I saw Tiffany & Bonnie, and offered them some donuts. I went home and did homework.

| On April 18th, 1955, Celebrated physicist and Nobel Laureate Albert Einstein died today at the age of 76… SMART MAN. R.I.P. My favorite quote from his was “Imagination is more important than knowledge”. |

| Top officials from the Federal Aviation Administration and the air traffic controllers’ union kicked off a cross-country tour of air traffic control facilities on Monday, two days after a seventh reported case this year of a controller falling asleep on the job. FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt and Paul Rinaldi, president of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association, are expected to hold a series of meetings about safety and professionalism. Their first stop was at a radar facility in the Atlanta area. YAY keeping our airwaves safe :)! |
