Day 79: Stores, Stores, & More

March 20th, 2011

Amy Tran was whom I spent virtually most of my day with today. When I woke up I played a little bit of Golden Sun before Amy ultimately dragged to run errands with her at various stores and vacinities all over Garden Grove which included: Jon’s Marketplace (to buy ham and pepper jack cheese), Stater Brothers (to buy mayonnaise), Wal*Mart (to buy pens & dog food), and Earle’s House (to pick up free baby wipes). Exciting, isn’t it? Before we got to the fun part of the day, we went to In&Out’s drive through where I quickly snapped a picture. It was practically raining the entire day, and it only got harder as we left the drive through, and left her house (later in the day). I would go to her house, and we would watch several hours of Glee together. Actually, it was mostly me watching Glee and her trying to find hotel reservations for Vegas. Shrug. It was nice when she made me a sandwich in between, fullfilling her womanly duties in the kitchen. BAHA, jk. After she drove me home, I was reunited with my sister, ate some homemade Pho (Yum), made a quick trip to the Rite Aid Store with my sister, and then went home and rested for the remainder of the day.

AT&T, under fire in markets like the Bay Area for the spotty coverage of its wireless network, announced Sunday it will buy smaller rival T-Mobile USA for $39 billion, a deal the phone giant claimed would reduce dropped calls and improve its sometimes pokey Internet access.
If government regulators approve the acquisition, the combined company would become the largest cellphone provider in the U.S. The deal would strengthen AT&T’s grip on the Bay Area cellphone market, but some industry critics said the combination would lead to higher prices for consumers since T-Mobile’s rates tend to be lower than those of AT&T or Verizon, the current No. 1 wireless carrier. And it comes as AT&T faces growing pressure from smartphone users, especially those with iPhones, who have long been frustrated with their service. Consumers have a choice since Verizon recently started selling the iPhone 4. T-Mobile itself tapped into that dissatisfaction with a series of taunting commercials — featuring a young woman in a pink and white dress mocking AT&T-encumbered iPhone users — that have resonated with irritated customers in San Francisco, where a few thousand smartphone users on the Embarcadero can swamp AT&T’s network. WOW.
On March 20th, 1995, Five two man terrorist teams from the Aum Shinrikyo religious ( doomsday cult ), riding on separate subway trains, converge at the Kasumigaseki station and secretly release lethal sarin gas into the air causing the death of Twelve people, and a further 5,500 treated in hospitals. FAIL. Eff’ing Terrorists. >:(. Piss me off so much.

P.S.: Optimist
