It was a night of nostalgia, as visions of my childhood flashed before my eyes. I started the day off with an OL interview with Tyler and Nick. I think it went relatively well, although I did get stumped on one question. Shrug. In between I went to work, and got to deliver a package as well as wash a cart. I then took a picture for my A.S. fake campaign. Eck. I then helped Geetha, Charlene, and Yammi set up the projector for the ICRA event later in the night. Apparently they didn’t know how to plug the cords in. Sigh, whatcha gonna do. Later, we all had lunch, and subsequently ate lots of Spaghetti, Meatballs, Breadsticks, and UGH Salad. We then watched an episode of Modern Family before class.
After class, Geetha and I would go back and watch an episode of Glee, and glimpses of a terrible episode of Degrassi & Jersey Shore. I went to my class, and then came back to Sixth College to spent the remainder of the night at ICRA’s Your Story 3: Night of Nostalgia event. As we watched Toy Story 3, and I saw visions of the Disney logo pass on top the screen, I took a picture, noting the nostalgia emanating through the movie screen. I miss my toys, and hopefully I’ll play with them someday so they don’t miss me as much. I swear that movie should have won best picture! In attendance at the movie was me, Geetha, Amul, Alex (kind of), Bee-John (kind of), Windi, Connor, Matt Diamond, Charlene, Yammi, Cindy, etc.
Later, me, Matt, Amul, Geetha, & Bee-John talked again about the drama that happened during the ICRA meeting the previous night, before Amul & Matt ultimately left. Geetha, Bee-John and I would chill at his place for a bit (I had to use the bathroom), before going to Porter’s Pub Mediterrean Nights, which was the grossest dance ever. There was barely anyone dancing, and everyone outside was smoking fumes from Hookah machines or drinking. For shameeeeee. I ended the night watching some Glee with Geetha, and engaging in relatively decent discussions with Charlene & Yammi. Night over.
| And so begins the Charlie Sheen Backlash. Charlie Sheen may be breaking world records with his tweeting, he may be attracting mondo ratings with the many interviews he’s given on various TV and radio shows, but is he really, as he has suggested, “winning!” when it comes to the hearts and minds of Americans? Is he convincing the people who buy tickets to see his next movie, program their TV to watch his next TV project, and otherwise help him support his five children, two ex-wives and, who can forget, the goddesses? He fails. | ![]() |

On March 3rd, 1991, On this day, it was evident that police brutality had occurred in Los Angeles, California in the middle of the night on March 3, 1991. This was proved, as it was recorded on video (although some of the audible sounds were not as noticeable as the actions). Three white police officers had proceeded to beat Rodney King beyond what was necessary to use force to control him. Moreover, these three officers had reported that the bruises, cuts, and/or scrapes they gave King were minor in nature. The beating by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department of Rodney King is captured on Video, the video then appeared on television news which angered many of the public especially those in the African American community who believed the police brutality was racially motivated. Four LAPD officers were later tried in a state court for the beating but were acquitted. The announcement of the acquittals sparked the 1992 Los Angeles Riots. I’m still terribly annoyed by people who claim the violence was unwarranted. The guy was on drugs for goodness sakes. |
P.S.: “Of course I have regrets, Senator. I regret losing my family. My wife was murdered because I was responsible for protecting David Palmer during an assassination attempt. My daughter can’t even look at me. Every day I regret looking into the eyes of men, women and children knowing that any moment their lives might be deemed expendable in an effort to protect the greater good. I regret every decision or mistake that I might have made which resulted in the loss of a single innocent life. But do you know what I regret the most? Is that this world needs people like me.” – Jack Bauer.
