Day 29: Paranormal 24

January 29th 2011

This was a long, yet amazing day. With the month almost to an end, I’m glad for the events that transpired tonight.

I woke up. Geetha came over and we hung out for a bit which included yearbook browsing and videogame playing, until Rashika finally arrived (an hour late). We watched an episode of 24 until Bee-John came, and then we watched another episode of 24. We were hungry right after so we went to eat at CV, which was up to its usual standard (not very good). Adam Bernot stalked us for a bit, and we asked him if he was joining us for Paranormal Activity 2 – I wasn’t surprised nor disappointed slightly when he said he wouldn’t stay on campus that long. After, we played Loaded Questions (Geetha winning), watched some more 24, and watched “Paranormal Activity 1”, rented from SAC. BeeJohn’s comments during the movie practically gave the plot away, but it was still a relatively decent movie. We later went to Tapioca Express to eat, which was very good, although they gave me way too much chicken for me to handle. Then, we watched Paranormal Activity 2, which was a GREAT movie, far superior than the first. I really liked the way they tied it back to the original movie; they actually thought it out, and didn’t just make a sequel cause the first one was popular.

My picture of the day is a piece of writing written by Rashika on Kunal’s mini white-board which pretty much speaks for itself.

Part 2 of the night started when BeeJohn left. Me, Rashika, & Geetha went to Earl’s and then headed immediately to Warren Student Activity Center to play Scrabble. While there I bumped into Germaine, Angie, Jasmine, Sandy, and Dina (2 RA’S on duty). I found out that “Jew” was a proper noun through the course of the game, and was disappointed when Geetha inevitably ended up winning. The game itself was pretty dull, but we made it fun by cracking jokes the entire 3 hours we were there. The night ended with us watching some more 24 episodes at my apartment until 4 AM in the morning, when we finally decided to call it a night.

Jesse Eisenberg met Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg face-to-face during his opening monologue on “Saturday Night Live” while Andy Samberg was on stage in character as Zuckerberg, whom he often portrays on the show. Talk about geek frisson! Eisenberg hosted the comedy skit show last night (Jan. 29) and brought up his role in the hit film “The Social Network,” which is about the founding and early days of Facebook. I don’t really know if this proves anything about Zuckerberg but I legitimately think he’s not as douchey as “The Social Network” portrayed him out to be.
On January 29th, 1959, Disney releases the animated film Sleeping Beauty to theatres. And hence it starts its legacy of quality animated films, my favorites including: The Lion King, Aladdin, Tangled, Up, Bambi, Toy Story 1, 2, & 3, just to name a few.

P.S.: And it’ll happen once again, You’ll turn to a friend, Someone that understands and sees through the master plan. But everybody’s gone, and you’ve been there for too long
to face this on your own. Well, I guess this is growing up!
