After that short intermission I proceeded to COMT100 where everybody shared their videos. Mine was okay, and the hallmark of the video was the playing of the epic Simon and Garfunkal classic “The Sound of Silence”. When class was done I saw Paul who said the A.S. funding meeting went well. Looks like things are looking up for Ron Paul club! I proceeded to Geisel afterwards to play The Sims for roughly an hour, before visiting Geetha at her place as she prepared for her speech. I went to price center afterwards to get dinner at none other than Burger King where I ran into Phil. He followed me on over to Geisel as we talked for two hours about random political topics, in the basement, a place that was essentially supposed to be silent. Even an asian guy told us to keep it down as we had engaging conversation. Shortly afterwards Bee-John brought me some milk tea as I ended the night relaxing at Geetha’s place. The end.

| On this day in 1901, a 63-year-old schoolteacher named Annie Edson Taylor becomes the first person to take the plunge over Niagara Falls in a barrel. After her husband died in the Civil War, the New York-born Taylor moved all over the U. S. before settling in Bay City, Michigan, around 1898. In July 1901, while reading an article about the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, she learned of the growing popularity of two enormous waterfalls located on the border of upstate New York and Canada. Strapped for cash and seeking fame, Taylor came up with the perfect attention-getting stunt: She would go over Niagara Falls in a barrel. UM OW? |
