Day 199: Gym Fail 2.0

July 18th, 2011
A second attempt working out at the gym was made today, and it resulted in somewhat of a success, and yet still somewhat of a fail. After working in the morning at EHS, I proceeded yet again to Day 15 of ThinkTogether, where I chilled at lunch (as usual), and proceeded for a rather calm day of film, math, and film. Every group I had for the day had very few students (a big absent pool was in place today), and I was able to finish the film projects for both Group 7 in the morning and Group 6 in the afternoon. Group 8 struggled playing a round of vocabulary challenge as well as Jeopardy but somehow we got through the hurdle, and also the ordeal. By the end of the day I was hella’ tired, busing to Geetha’s place where she helped heal me from a few spider/bug bites (I’m not exactly sure what they are). We went to TapEx where we got some dinner (YUM CRISPY CHICKEN), before proceeding back to my place to finish streaming Despicable Me. Great, CUTE Movie. We went to the gym shortly thereafter, and worked out for roughly 30 minutes, still digesting most of the food we had processed only 90 minutes prior. I took a picture at the gym to hallmark my desperate attempt, but it was mostly a fail as I didn’t know how to use the stairmaster ofrthe bicycle machine. By the end of the day, Geetha left and I proceeded back to my place to start editing some of my kiddies’ video projects. The hardest part was definitely FINDING WAYS TO CONVERT MY DAMN QUICKTIME VIDEOS INTO AVI. By the end of the night I gave up, and tried to download more compatible video-editing software. I settled for Pinnacale’s 15 Day Free Trial.

History
On this day in 1940, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who first took office in 1933 as America’s 32nd president, is nominated for an unprecedented third term. Roosevelt, a Democrat, would eventually be elected to a record four terms in office, the only U.S. president to serve more than two terms. Roosevelt was born January 30, 1882, in Hyde Park, New York, and went on to serve as a New York state senator from 1911 to 1913, assistant secretary of the Navy from 1913 to 1920 and governor of New York from 1929 to 1932. In 1932, he defeated incumbent Herbert Hoover to be elected president for the first time. During his first term, Roosevelt enacted his New Deal social programs, which were aimed at lifting America out of the Great Depression. In 1936, he won his second term in office by defeating Kansas governor Alf Landon in a landslide. TRAITOROUS.
News
Because there is a growing consensus on Capitol Hill that the White House talks are unlikely to bear fruit, lawmakers in both parties are looking to a plan offered by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell as the most likely legislative solution to avoiding a default. McConnell, R-Kentucky, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, are now considering adding to the measure in order to boost its chances of passing the GOP-controlled House and Democratic-led Senate. SO SAD.
