Day 177: One Week Anniversary

June 26th, 2011

It’s my one week anniversary of my stay here at La Regencia, and let’s just say it’s been great thus far (minus the exploding palm tree). I chilled and talked with Geetha, Tyler, his friend Hermano, and Lauren in the morning before walking Geetha back to her place. After we hung out for a bit, we walked on over to get lunch at Chipotle (YUM, for a mexican) and then bought lots of things at Ralph’s. We bused on the way back, seeing Tyler along the way, and we hung out in her room for a bit. I left again taking the bus, and saw Tyler yet again on my way home. We talked back at my place, helping Lauren somewhat assemble her shelf. After that was done, Lauren and I performed various tasks by buying things at Target(drawers), Ikea (Computer Chair), and Costco (LOTS OF SNACKS AND FOOD SUPPLIES FOR THE YEAR!). When we got back we met up with Alex before heading straight to dinner at L&L Hawaiian (which was okay food I guess)… We got dessert in the form of ice cream at Rite Aid where I took my picture of the day (THRIFTYS), before going to Von’s (BUT NOT THE ONE NEAR MY APARTMENT, so I still have not broken the Von’s Nobel Virginity yet). Subsequently, I’m willing to see how long I will last before I will ultimately have to shop there. Afterwards I watched Alex assemble my chair and we talked with her for a bit before I finally called it a night. First day of official teaching tomorrow. EXCITING.

History
On June 26th, 1963, President John F. Kennedy expresses solidarity with democratic German citizens in a speech in front of the Berlin Wall that separated Berlin into west Berlin and East Berlin, he declared to the crowd, “Ich bin ein Berliner” or “I am also a citizen of Berlin.” GOOD STUFFS.
News
GOP presidential candidates not named Mitt Romney are stepping up their fundraising as the second quarter comes to an end. With June 30 just days away, some of Romney’s rivals are tapping donors through the Internet to fatten their campaign coffers. The former Massachusetts governor is widely expected to be the fundraising leader in the GOP field and will raise $15 million to $20 million in the second quarter, USA TODAY’s Fredreka Schouten reported last week. SCREW YOU ROMNEY.

P.S.: MATHCLASS
