My picture of the day is a subsequent result of the events that transpired yesterday, during SunGod. Though it is illegal and tainted, it’s a nice gesture though, inspiring me to never stop believing in an ultimate attempt to carry out the rest of my day. Today, I spent the entire day running errands, shopping, and eating. I first went with Geetha to Foodworx and then to La Regencia to drop off my paperwork. Hoorah ! This means… I’m officially living there. It’s a little scary to think about living off campus, but the bus ride there really wasn’t too bad. We then proceeded to the Ralph’s shopping area, where we got SPRINKLES. The passcode didn’t work, but Lauren Adams was there, which made it super exciting. Unfortunately, it appears as if I’m not taking any Communication classes with her in the Fall. Me and Geetha ate the Sprinkles before the pain began: the pain of shopping. I realized my shopping endurance has been getting lower and lower. Every time I walk into a score I have to locate a place to sit, because walking around subsequently makes me nauseous. At Marshall’s Geetha bought a dress and then decided not to buy it, and I didn’t buy any clothes. I did buy though Tiffany Saw’s gift which happened to be a Disney book of some sort and a Winnie the Pooh piggie bank. We proceeded to Ulta, where I left and waited outside. We proceeded to Ross, which kind of reminded me of my childhood in a strange way. Every year, my mom would take me shopping there to buy some clothes for the remainder of the school year. Having been poor as a kid, I never recognized the significance of shopping. At Ross I ended up buying one shirt, and one set of shoes. Fun. I like them, but I realized at that point that I had spent way too much money. Geetha and I went back on campus, chilled at her place, chilled at my place, and then proceeded to eat at Pines for dinner. I took a picture of the “Don’t Stop Believing” sign while on my way there. YUM, MORE FOOD. I had bbq chicken quesadilla which wasn’t really that good. We also had a very interesting and yet extended conversation about my past, my childhood traumas, and how they have affected me to this present day. We went back to my place where I continued assembling T.saw’s gift: including a bandaid, a bluebook, a UCSD Cares Logo, and a Phil’s Pen. Geetha left and I proceeded to T.Saw’s surprise party.
Surprise surprise. I think I failed. WHY!? Cause I went to T.saw’s place instead of Ryan’s – where the surprise party was supposed to take place. Ryan assured me as I opened the door to go to his place, and I’m glad Tiffany didn’t see me (although that’s what Ryan told me, perhaps to make me feel better). It didn’t matter in the end because I went to Ryan’s place, saw many of her friends, and then we all ambushed her with a surprise, me being the only one that hid in the closet. Among the people there included Louise, Michelle, Ryan, Robbie, Daniel, Angela, Vaibhav, Gordie, Jonathan Cui, Scott, and others whose names I have misplaced. At the party I did many fruitless activities, including playing horse with a mini basketball, eating some cake, talking, eating some pineapple, and playing Rock Band. Rock Band was fun – I got to sing “Mr Brightside” with Michelle, and more importantly other songs with Louise – including the Journey smash “Don’t Stop Believing”, bringing the day’s events full circle. I went back to my place, met up with Geetha, and then we played Mario Party the rest of the night, before Amul came back and talked to us for a few minutes.

| On May 14th, 1955, The Soviet Union and its Eastern Bloc allies including USSR, Poland, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Albania siged a security pact in the Polish capital, Warsaw, after a three-day conference. The Warsaw Pact will provide close integration of military, economic and cultural policy between the eight Communist nations. BOO. |

| In a Thursday speech that was equal parts college lecture and campaign stump, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney issued a defense of the health care “experiment” he implemented while governor and slammed the Obama administration’s health care reform law as a federal “power grab.” The potential GOP presidential contender said he would “issue waivers for all 50 states” to opt-out of health care reform on his first day in office should he be “lucky” enough to become president. He expressed the same sentiment in an op-ed for USA Today Thursday, which explicitly detailed his five-point plan. NICE TRY, YOU FAILURE. |
