The weather was definitely moody today as it transitioned from cloudy to sunny, to cloudy, to rainy, to sunny to cloudy, to raining, to freezing cold. I started the day not doing much for a couple hours, playing a couple Flash games while simultaneously avoiding doing any necessary work. I also watched an episode of Degrassi, which was semi-sufficient because it was the second half of a two-parter, but still left me wanting more. I would go deliver an umbrella to Geetha because she accidentally left at my place a week ago when it was still raining. Hopefully it protected her from the ensuing downtrench of rain that would fall all over Southern California later that night.
I eventually desired lunch so me, Lauren, Rosario, & Matt all went to Souplantation to eat. Before we did though we went to “Game Empire”, which was a very strange place to say the least. Half of it was consumed with tables filled with college-looking to adult-looking persons playing board games/adventure games on tables. The other half was basically shelves of both board games and role-playing games. I explored the terrain looking for a new board game to drench my time in; unfortunately I found none to be sufficient. Hopefully Matt follows through with his promise and we eventually play Dungeons and Dragons (with him being the Game Master). I’ll come back if I feel a necessary need to buy a board game. Unfortunately it did not have much of a selection – because of the fact that Loaded Questions was not there, I don’t know whether to trust it ultimately as an establishment. We left, we ate at Souplantation, which was both semi-healthy and semi-delicious. While there I snapped a picture while it was still sunny to be optimistic about the day. We left, and went to Wal*Mart where we went through almost all the 5 dollar movies to see which ones would be good. I discovered my lack of a shopping endurance as I was tired after walking around Wal*Mart for four minutes.
After we got back to campus, my headache kicked in. I was already drowsy and tired from walking around Wal*Mart for a long time, so it didn’t help that we decided to watch a movie. We watched the Princess and the Frog where I fell asleep halfway in. It was semi-decent, but also semi-boring at the same time. We then watched FernGully: The Last Forest, which was really ridiculous, but also seemed to be an exact replica of James Cameron’s Avatar. Published in 1992, it’s obvious where James Cameron decided to steal…. erm, borrow his ideas from. After, Kunal wanted to play video games, so went to Matt’s place to play Clue. He gave me some tylenol for my headache and it kind of helped, but I refuse to take any more drugs to solve my problems. DARE!: Drug Abuse Resist Education. We ultimately played it in the 4th Floor Study Lounge, basically so I could revisit the space that consumed much of my activity my Freshman Year. It was pretty nostalgic actually, although we didn’t do much that would reflect those said memories. We played Clue, where we all basically won one game except Rosario. By the end of the night, we were done with our endevaors.
