With summer school officially out of the picture, I had the time to socialize with various creatures from different walks of life (mostly teachers though, since they’re the only ones that don’t have to go to work).
On all 3 occasions, Kai happened to impress the individuals with comments ranging from “Wow, he’s such a good baby” and “Wow, he’s so well behaved!”. I’m quite happy that Kai is able to behave in a public setting, even if feeding him still requires him holding and throwing objects. Maybe he’s actually better than other babies, but I might attribute his behavior to the new stroller we got him which allows him more free range of movement.
He’s still looking for some friends his own age of course.
Teaching is such an ideal job for a parent. I’m going to enjoy cherishing the moments of summer each year with Kai as he gets older. This summer is already a lot better than last summer, where he was mostly boring and just laying around as a newborn (still don’t miss that phase one bit).
The “3rd of July” day off allowed Katherine to join us for some fun adventures as well, where Kai once was a bit more chaotic than usual, but still a “well behaved baby” compared to many others. He was much better at Sharetea and post-nap so it could just have been the ambience.
Even though he’s well-behaved in public, he’s a bit more chaotic at home. Quite a Decepticon in public, I must say. His feeding and sleeping patterns are still a little bit hit or miss. Still, grateful for a good week and excited to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with him this weekend!
