My baby is officially bald! It’s a bit bittersweet saying goodbye to his old baby hair, but all things in life must come to an end. It will be replaced with new and fluffier hair, so fluffy I might die.
Kai actually did a great job during his first haircut, not even crying or yelling once. He must have gotten his manhood from his father. Unfortunately, his big forehead will be ever more prominent now than ever. Good thing he’s not looking for a wife quite yet, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Metaphorically speaking, Kai has shedded away a part of himself for a new start in life. It’s often said that parents have to say goodbye to their babies multiple times as they enter new phases of livelihood. I just know we’re going to continue to make exciting new adventures this summer as his hair grows back. And now that we’re finally safely back home (with no explosion or chemical spill, mind you) it hopefully will be the best summer of Kai’s life (so far).
