I’m backkkkkkkkk!
I’m happy to announce I will be officially be going back to d………o summer school for CVA academy again, located right next to Dale!
Clickbait aside, a transfer position never opened up this year to return to Dale – so I couldn’t return even if I wanted to. However, I did want to compare the two schools as a reference point for the future.
Category 1: Facilities
The Dale campus had a multi-million dollar re-design. Enough Said. Campus is better physically, even if beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Dale: 1
Kennedy: 0
Category 2: Bell Schedule
The middle school bell schedule will always trump the high school bell schedule. Getting out at 2:25 vs. 3:17. Get out of here!!! It’s not even a comparison!
Dale: 2
Kennedy: 0
Category 3: Commute
Whereas Dale is about 8 minutes away from my home, Kennedy is about 20 minutes. What an easy comparison.
Dale: 3
Kennedy: 0
Category 4: Staff
The staff at Dale are definitely better. The teachers are way more motivated and less negative than the dinosaurs at Kennedy.
Dale: 4
Kennedy: 0
Category 5: Workload
High school workload is a bit heavier, and a bit more high stakes, especially when teaching IB students who have to take a ridiculous test at the end of the year. Not exactly conducive to raising a child.
Dale: 5
Kennedy: 0
Category 5: Students
The final category is students, and there’s simply no comparison. Kennedy students are more motivated, more ready to learn, and more inspiring than the students at Dale. And that also goes without saying, should all these categories even be weighted evenly? Even if a campus is beautiful and the school faculty is amazing, you end up interacting with students 95% of any given day, so I will give the final category 5 points.
Dale: 5
Kennedy: 5
In the end, my heart will dictate whatever happens in the future. But the longer I remain at Kennedy, the longer I will probably be a Fighting Irish for life (or until I eventually join the dark side and attempt administration). To be continued.
