Another day of the chemical leak crisis, and yet another day I’m homeless.
Luckily for the Class of 2026, their graduation was rescheduled, and I opted to attend. I could have easily chosen not to, but I think I wanted to see my first cohort of IB students graduate. Maybe next year I won’t go out of my way to do so, but then again, I highly doubt graduation will be cancelled yet again next year for a chemical leak.
Though it was inconvenient being located at the Anaheim Convention Center, it will be well worth it to bid farewell to some of the greatest students of all time!
Of course, I kind of regretted it a bit because I got a huge hunger headache midway through the graduation ceremony. It was a bit nauseous hearing a bunch of names of Seniors who I never taught (all the IB students got their names read within the first 5 minutes).
I tried taking pictures with students post-graduation, but the chaotic nature of the crowds outside mixed with my hunger headache and my desire to get home to Kai quickly ended those dreams.
Of course, the greatest news came when the ceremony was all done: that the evacuation orders were fully lifted! We will slowly transition into going back home so Kai can have a normal summer.
