The last few days have been a whirlwind of emotions, but finally some positive news to report: that the Bleve Threat has been eliminated. Basically meaning the possibility of a huge explosion decimating the city is no more (but maybe a smaller explosion could still happen). Late last night, firefighters risked their life to discover a crack on the tank that is relieving some pressure.
My friend suggested a Bleve explosion as the best possible scenario so I could get paid out for the house through insurance. But knowing how evil insurance companies are, there’s definitely no guarantees that they would pay out, or how long that process would take.
And so…. I’m quite happy to report that my house will not blow up! I’m mostly ecstatic because of the sheer amount of nostalgic items that still remain in the townhouse, even if we won’t be back for most likely a couple of weeks.
Of course, Kai has no idea what is going on, and it will remain that way until he is of ripe age to explain what is happening. I’m sure he’s enjoying his time away from home and probably thinks he is on vacation. Eating in expensive high chairs (from Nordstrom’s), and of course enjoying a backyard he will never get to play in in the future when he goes back home.
Better enjoy it while you can, buddy!
President Trump has accepted Governor Newson’s request for a FEMA emergency declaration, which will be helpful in assisting even more people through this process.
