Day 7: UC San Diego

Our San Diego adventures continued today with a trip to my alma matter. But first some delicious breakfast at Snooze! Not the original location, but one very close to campus. Kai was mostly squirming around in his high chair the entire time.

UC San Diego proved itself to be a bit disappointing, only because many of the Price Center locales were closed due to it being Spring Break. The bookstore was also closed, which I suppose is a good thing because it prevented me from wasting money that I didn’t have.

But by far the most exciting part of the trip was taking a photo at the Warren Bear with none other than Kai. Perhaps he will go here someday after being rejected from UCLA like father. Or perhaps he will go somewhere even better. Or perhaps AI will make college practically pointless in the future, but who I am to say? Being a mostly closed campus, we got lucky and was able to feed him in the Jacobs school of engineering, proving itself a comfortable and sufficient rest stop.

Afterwards, we checked into our hotel and had one finally adventure at UTC mall, where we ate at the food court, got some boba, and walked around various stores with Kai.

Walking around campus and UTC made me realize how much things have changed in 14 years. After all, I’m now a father. Crazy.
