Happy 248th birthday to the greatest nation on Earth! I know in this day and age it’s trendy to hate on America, but I will be forever grateful to the opportunities provided to me and my family by this wonderful country.
People don’t get to choose where they are born – and it’s therefore a blessing and privilege to be born in the United States – or even given a chance to immigrate here.
The American dream is an essential component of what it means to be an American, and Katherine and I are slowly making steps forward to acquiring a house for an eventual family in the future.
Of course this freedom means having to hear fireworks in the middle of the night for the rest of the day. One small sacrifice worth it to live in a country so free and amazing.
