Once upon a shelf in a newlywed’s bedroom, amidst rows of Taylor Swift trashcans and Disney100 McDonald’s happy meal toys, stood John Tran, a FunkoPop with a grin as wide as his big forehead. Right next to him was Katherine Pham, a FunkoPop known for her grace and elegance.

John, with his outgoing nature, was the life of every imaginary party, engaging in lots of failures over the years and many stories of awkwardness and uncomfortable moments. Katherine, on the other hand, exuded an aura of sophistication, often engrossed in stories of elegance and refinement.

Their paths crossed during an Anime convention, when Katherine’s funkpop exhibited signs of a fever in 100 degree summer weather. John, quick on his feet (figuratively speaking), leaped to her rescue. “Here. I will pour you a cup of Emergen-C?” he chimed, flashing his trademark grin.

Katherine, slightly flustered but grateful, thanked him gracefully. Their interaction sparked an unexpected friendship. Despite their differences in style and demeanor, they found common ground in their shared love for drugs.

Later, as they spent more time together as friends, their shelves became intertwined, each learning from the other. John learned that it was necessary to wash your hands after using the bathroom, and putting the toilet seat down as a sign of respect. Katherine, in turn, discovered the thrill of a delicious meal in the form of Phil’s BBQ.

Their escapades taught them that differences could be strengths when combined, and their unique personalities complemented each other beautifully. John and Katherine became an embodiment of the saying, “opposites attract.” John was after all, the opposite of Katherine’s exes, a long string of toxic marines.

Eventually their friendship grew into a love that would last the test of time, now as stable as Funkopops, not fated to deteriorate for hundreds of years.

And so, on that collector’s shelf, amidst a myriad of colorful characters, John Tran and Katherine Pham stood side by side, a testament to the enduring power of friendship and the magic of storytelling.
