A Taste of Hell’s Kitchen

I first watched Hell’s Kitchen when I was a freshman in high school. From the moment Gordon Ramsay started yelling at contestants about overcooked risotto and beef wellington, I just knew I had to have a taste. And now, 19 seasons later, I finally get that experience. Obviously this isn’t the “original” Hell’s Kitchen for that is filmed on a studio lot in Los Angeles where only VIPs are invited. But this was good enough for a taste of the menu items, which I will subsequently review below:

The lobster risotto was delicious! I recently took a seafood allergy test that reviewed I was only allergic to scallops, and so I avoided that option. That being said, the pairing of the risotto with the lobster gave an explosion of flavor that melted in my month.

The main course was of course the Beef Wellington, something I have been dying to try since it is so exceptionally hard to make. The sauce took a while for my taste buds to get acquired to, but the meat was very tender and delicious. The pairing with the mashed potatoes was crispy. I especially liked the outer shell of the filet mignon which added an extra flair to the overall dish.

Finally, I had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The best way to describe it is a completely elevated version of Bj’s pizookies with the hot and cold clashing in your mouth for an explosion of sugary goodness. It wasn’t too sweet either, but was still ample to fullfill all of my taste buds.

The restaurant food itself was delicious and I would give it a 10/10. If I could, I would go to this restaurant daily, but obviously I am a broke teacher in the United States, so I’ll stick to my Phil’s BBQ addiction for the time being.

Thank you Gordon Ramsay for being the Taylor Swift of cooking. Now I need to try all his other restaurants.
