Every Movie I Have Ever Seen (In Theaters). Reviewed.

When I was a kid, I didn’t get a chance to go to many movies. My parents didn’t have the luxury (or the english skills) to really allow me a chance to go. As an adult, I’m grateful for the ability to do so (much more at my own convenience). I’m sharing my love of movies by taking students on a field trip this week to see Captain America: Civil War. It will be my 200th movie ever watched in theaters.

With that said, here’s a list (and VERY brief) review of all the movies I have ever seen in a movie theater from birth to present. One thumb up means good, One thumb down means bad, two thumbs up means GREAT, and two thumbs down means HORRIBLE (Last Updated May 2nd, 2016).

Pocahontas (1995): I got to see it at the park where I normally visited when I was a kid. They had an outdoor screening for our poor neighborhood, and as a kid, it was a WONDERFUL experience.
two-thumbs-up195

Pokemon (1999): The first movie I ever saw in theaters. What better way to live my childhood than with Pikachu, Ash, and Misty?

One-thumb up1

Dude Where’s My Car (2000): I went with my sisters and my parents (AWKWARD). They didn’t know English so I’m not so sure they picked up on the sexual innuendos during the movie. Needless to say, it was pretty terrible and I was about 10 at the time when I watched it.

One-thumb down2

Spider Man (2002): It was good. I especially enjoyed the kiss scene between Peter Parker and Mary Jane (in the rain).

One-thumb up3

The Ring (2002): Scary, no doubt. Funny, no doubt. Entertaining, no doubt.

One-thumb up4

Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde (2003): What a letdown this was, even with the star power of Reese Witherspoon. It was so bad, they never made the third movie they were going to make (where she would have inevitably ran for…. President).

One-thumb down5

Cheaper By the Dozen (2003): A great family occasion. I also had a crush on Hilary Duff at the time.

One-thumb up6

Win a Date with Tad Hamilton (2004): Chick flicks normally are okay for me, but this one just didn’t do it for me…

One-thumb down7

Napoleon Dynamite (2004): “Napoleon, give me some of your tots.” “No, get your own”. KICKS Pants. LOL.

One-thumb up8

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004): Horribly overrated. I don’t think Will Ferrell is that funny.

two-thumbs-down9

A Cinderella Story (2004): Hilary Duff wins my heart again in this movie.

One-thumb up10

The Bourne Supremacy (2004): Watched this despite watching the first movie. I was super confused. Good acting and action nevertheless.

One-thumb up174

Collateral (2004): Pretty deep. and Pretty dark. I was 14 at the time of watching it and was enthralled.

One-thumb up11

Lemony Snickett’s a Series of Unfortunate Events (2004): I liked it, despite negative reviews. Sad they never made a sequel.

One-thumb up12

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (2005): It was funny, and “different” from what I expected with my low 15-year old standards at the time.

One-thumb up13

Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith (2005): Dialogue sucked. I didn’t understand the Star Wars hype at the time either.

One-thumb down14

War of the Worlds (2005): I liked the action scenes. Tom Cruise before he was a Scientologist.

One-thumb up15

Chicken Little (2005): Kind of forgettable in the grand scheme of animated movies.

One-thumb down16

Walk the Line (2005): Good plot, good movie, good history (of Johnny Cash).

One-thumb up17

Memoirs of a Geisha (2005): Good??? I think. I really don’t remember this movie that much other than she was essentially an Asian Prostitute.

One-thumb up18

Pride and Prejudice (2005): Jane Austen just doesn’t do it for me.

One-thumb down19

One-thumb down20

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006): Will Farrell, you suck.

One-thumb down21

R.V. (2006): Yeah, even with the combination of JoJo and Robin Williams, this movie still let me down.

One-thumb down22

Children of Men (2006): Disappointed. I guess I didn’t understand the “dark themes” at the time of a post-apocalyptic society.

One-thumb down23

The Sentinel (2006): Even Jack Bauer couldn’t save this crappy movie.

One-thumb down24

Disturbia (2007): Good. Not as good as Rear Window, but a decent “re-telling”.

One-thumb up25

The Simpsons Movie (2007): Growing up with the Simpsons, I love how this movie truly captured the love between Marge and Homer. It still had its sentimental moments, despite further episodes from the show (I’m talking about Season 10 and beyond).

two-thumbs-up26

Journey from the Fall (2007): I also watched this with my parents, and since it was in Vietnamese, it was a good old family time. It was a pretty depressing movie though.

One-thumb up27

The Bourne Ultimatum (2007): I liked the action scenes, but didn’t really understand it since I didn’t watch the two movies before it.

I Am Legend (2007): Good, except for the horrible ending.

One-thumb up29

Jumper (2008): Rachel Bilson <3 is enough for me.

One-thumb up30

The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008): Boring.

One-thumb down31

One-thumb up32

Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008): How about we forget “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” instead.

One-thumb down33

Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (2008): Pretty funny. I like how politically incorrect it is. Take that, you social justice warriors.

One-thumb up34

You Don’t Mess with the Zohan (2008): Adam Sandler, you’re kind of dumb.

One-thumb down35

Get Smart (2008): I don’t know. I like Anne Hathaway, but I think Steve Carrell is a little old for her. I just couldn’t get past that aspect.

One-thumb down36

Hancock (2008): It was good, up until the second halfway point twist. Not gonna review it here.

One-thumb down37

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (2008): Saw it with a bunch of teenage girls…. and it was pretty awesome!

Up (2009): Heartfelt, and touching.

One-thumb up48

Year One (2009): Dumb, and pushed the wrong buttons.

One-thumb up50

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009): Very punny.

One-thumb down53

Iron Man 2 (2010): Yay for Tony Stark.
