Day 311: Workout Music

November 7th, 2011
Despite all the stress arising from various classes today, I also was able to begin my workout regiment, through attending the La Regencia gymnasium. I first bought Disneyland tickets in Warren, had COGN150 class, went to work afterwards to work on a “special project”, went to Foodworx where Geetha swiped me, chilled at her place for a bit, then went to my COMT100 class, went to video edit for half a hour, ate Tapioca Express for dinner with Rashika & Geetha, and then re-chilled at Geetha’s place. We are both excited for Disneyland, which will be happening in just 2 short weeks. YEEEEEEEEEEEE CLIQUE BONDING. I went home after Geetha went to class, proceeding to work out at the La Regencia gym. Before I went though, I made sure to make a list of inspirational songs to get me through my work out (2 whole miles on the treadmill, plus some work on the Elliptical). They’re pictured in today’s picture of the day. It was definitely an uphill battle, but I was able to persevere. When the night ended, I went to Geetha’s place to both interview her and continue watching a great American documentary series on Netflix.

History
On this day in 1991, basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson stuns the world by announcing his sudden retirement from the Los Angeles Lakers, after testing positive for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. At the time, many Americans viewed AIDS as a gay white man’s disease. Johnson (1959- ), who is African American and heterosexual, was one of the first sports stars to go public about his HIV-positive status. Revered as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, Johnson spent his entire 13-season NBA career with the Lakers, helping them to win five championships in the 1980s. The 6’9″ point guard, a native of Lansing, Michigan, was famous for his extraordinary passing skills, contagious smile and love of the game. In 1981, he signed a 25-year deal with the Lakers for $25 million, one of the NBA’s first over-the-top contracts. A SAD DAY INDEED.
News
The fourth woman to accuse Herman Cain of sexual harassment said last night that she is doing so because she wants her son to know that she stood up for what she believed in. In her first live interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan, Sharon Bialek said she regarded Cain as someone she ‘went to for help’ and is shocked that he would ‘use his power in such a way.’ BAHAHAHAHAHHA FAIL.
