Day 292: Rain or Shine, Ron Paul 2012.

October 19th, 2011
If today proved anything, it was that in rain or shine, Ron Paul has the most ardent supporters of all. In the morning I proceeded directly to Price Center to get a table for TABLING ON LIBRARY WALK. Josh and Amy eventually joined me, as this wonderful setup was made IN THE RAIN. I convinced many people to join the organizations, got into some pretty fierce debates with some others (but I maintained politeness). In the process I encountered various people walking down library walk I knew anyway: Earth, Pam, V.Payne, Marie Lea, & Joyce. It was a relatively successful tabling event as eventually Simeon came to deliver us a wonderful tent to protect us from the sprinkling rain. I proceeded to class afterwards, then to get my Scream Zone tickets which I unfortunately found out were already sold. Somehow the tickets I reserved… were sold. WTF? I next proceeded to do a couple hours of video editing, met up with Geetha at Geisel, ate dinner at Panda Express and had dessert at Yogurt World with her, and then proceeded home to do some wonderful Vietnamese homework (among playing The Sims).

History
Hopelessly trapped at Yorktown, Virginia, British General Lord Cornwallis surrenders 8,000 British soldiers and seamen to a larger Franco-American force, effectively bringing an end to the American Revolution. Lord Cornwallis was one of the most capable British generals of the American Revolution. In 1776, he drove General George Washington’s Patriots forces out of New Jersey, and in 1780 he won a stunning victory over General Horatio Gates’ Patriot army at Camden, South Carolina. Cornwallis’ subsequent invasion of North Carolina was less successful, however, and in April 1781 he led his weary and battered troops toward the Virginia coast, where he could maintain seaborne lines of communication with the large British army of General Henry Clinton in New York City. After conducting a series of raids against towns and plantations in Virginia, Cornwallis settled in the tidewater town of Yorktown in August. The British immediately began fortifying the town and the adjacent promontory of Gloucester Point across the York River. DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA.

Sam Evans, please report back to McKinley High. We’ve missed your trouty mouth. Chord Overstreet, who famously turned down a recurring role for season three, is coming back to Glee! What brings him back to Lima, Ohio? Here’s what a source is telling us… YAY.!

P.S.:
