Day 280: Surprise Birthday Party

October 7th, 2011
After a long day of work and play, it was time to surprise Geetha with a birthday party of some sort. I went to EHS in the morning where I would help Debbie deliver a package to Campus Mail Services. Shortly thereafter I picked up Geetha using the same cart and drove her all the way on over to Geisel before delivering the cart back to its appropriate destination. I joined Geetha at Geisel afterwards before heading straight to class. After this was yet another trip to Geisel, where this time Bee-John bugged the hell out of both me and Geetha. We subsequently all made all our way to Panda Express (so Geetha could get lunch), The Zone (so Geetha could get her program supplies), the A.S. Office (to get our safe ride stickers), and the Alumni Office (so I could check up on my bookstore coupon). When all was said and done the three of us departed going our seperate ways…. OR SO IT SEEMED.

I went home where Alexis would pick me up and we would first buy a delicious Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Cake. The Price? 37 dollars. YEEEE. She drove us to Pho where we consumed a delicious meal, and then Tea N More to get some delicious boba. YEEEEE. Alexis’s stomachache kicked in so she drove me back to my place, where I helped Lauren clean the bathroom before buying birthday candles at Von’s and watching one episode of Glee with her. When her ex-boyfriend came over, I went on over to Amy’s place to fill time. I subsequently talked to Rosario, Amy, Angie, & Lylan for a good time before heading on over back to my apartment, where Lauren would drive me back to campus for Geetha’s surprise. I phoned Geetha’s roommate extremely worried over the fact that Geetha wasn’t in her apartment. They let me in as I set up the cake. Caroline later called me saying she would deliver Geetha over here and had already texted the other RA’s to come. I was pleasantly surprised when a ton of people showed up, and we all consumed some delicious cake. We spent the rest of the night talking about Halloween costumes as well as hearing funny songs being played acousticly on the guitar. When Geetha’s friends left I gave her her gift: a homemade book made straight from my heart. YEEEE!

History
On this day in 2003, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is elected governor of California, the most populous state in the nation with the world’s fifth-largest economy. Despite his inexperience, Schwarzenegger came out on top in the 11-week campaign to replace Gray Davis, who had earlier become the first United States governor to be recalled by the people since 1921. Schwarzenegger was one of 135 candidates on the ballot, which included career politicians, other actors, and one adult-film star. Born in Thal, Austria, on July 30, 1947, Arnold Schwarzenegger began body-building as a teenager. He won the first of four “Mr. Universe” body-building championships at the age of 20, and moved to the United States in 1968. He also went on to win a then-record seven “Mr. Olympia” championships, securing his reputation as a body-building legend, and soon began appearing in films. Schwarzenegger first attracted mainstream public attention for a Golden GlobeĀ®-winning performance in Stay Hungry (1976) and his appearance in the 1977 documentary Pumping Iron. At the same time, he was working on a B.A. at the University of Wisconsin, from which he graduated in 1979. THE GOVERNATOR….
