Day 252: Phil’s Celebration

September 9th, 2011
Today was a celebration after the tragic events of the blackout of the century. Me and Geetha celebrated by going to Panda Express and then EHS shortly thereafter. When I noticed it wasn’t open, I left for home, where I relaxed the rest of the day by literally doing absolutely nothing on the computer. Lauren and Tyler are leaving for OL training for a week starting tomorrow, so we decided to celebrate by going to Phil’s BBQ. Just like a year ago when Justin Bieber helped cause a freeway jam, a Selena Gomez concert in the Sports Arena did the same today. We ate our delicious food (YUM RIBS) before talking about random topics at the dinner table. When we left, we went home to watch the second Final Destination movie, which I thought was better than the first. THE END!

History
Frances Folsom Cleveland, the wife of President Grover Cleveland, gives birth to a daughter, Esther, in the White House. On June 2, 1886, in an intimate ceremony held in the Blue Room of the White House, President Grover Cleveland married Frances Folsom, the daughter of Cleveland’s late law partner and friend, Oscar Folsom. Fewer than 40 people were present to witness the 49-year-old president exchange vows with Frances, who at 21 years of age became the youngest first lady in U.S. history. As a devoted family friend, Cleveland allegedly bought “Frank” her first baby carriage. After her father’s death, he administered her estate. When Frances entered Wells College, Cleveland, then the governor of New York, asked Mrs. Folsom’s permission to correspond with the young lady. After his inauguration as president in 1885, Frances visited Cleveland at the executive mansion. Despite a 27-year difference in age, their affection turned to romance, and in 1886 the couple were married in the White House. OMG YUM.
News
Jon Stewart loves Ron Paul. OK, maybe “loves” is too strong a word here. The “Daily Show” host appreciates GOP presidential hopeful Congressman Paul of Texas quite a bit. That doesn’t mean he wants him to win, though. “I don’t know if he should be president or have any kind of power but I like him as our idea guy,” said Mr. Stewart during his roundup on Wednesday’s Republican debate from the Reagan library. <24 Jon Stewart!

P.S.: reflect
