Day 153: Random Encounters

June 2nd, 2011

As the quarter starts to wind down, so does my lack of studying [meaning I’m studying more now]… not before a whole lot of random encounters with people first though, only to ultimately make me feel nostalgic about the school year ending. SAD TIMES. As the last day of classes, I felt nostalgic saying goodbye to my last REAL, hard-working quarter at least. Spring’s always been my toughest quarter, so subsequently it’s going to be a hurdle getting through finals. Still, despite how busy this quarter was, I kind of enjoyed the business, and hopefully can preoccupy myself with something new in the Fall.

First, I went to history, where Professor Klein lectured and made a pretty far-fetched connection between the Gilded Age and the Reagan era. Of course, as a liberal professor, she had to make him look like an evil capitalist who ignored the plight of the poor. Still, I give her props for being such an enthusiastic and interesting history professor. Afterwards, I went to EH&S and printed out a bunch of stuff, before going with Geetha to Foodworx. I got a salad, which was disgusting! Then I went to my last Literature class with Stephanie Jed, where we showed the following embarrassing video to the class (I only attached my portions, but you can watch the rest of the video on youtube):

It was nice playing the rejected guy, something that I’ve been used to for so long (REFER TO MY OLD HIGH SCHOOL BLOG POSTS if you want to relive that pain). Anyway, Stephanie Jed is a real sweethart, and I’m going to miss her. Maybe I’ll end up taking her next Spring again though. =). After this class, I went to my last Professor Patterson History lecture. It was relatively interesting because he showed us many Eurovision songs, as well as the NUMA NUMA SONG!!!!! FUN STUFF. He was a really enlightening professor… I’m just not looking forward to studying for the class though. Afterwards, I proceeded to Geetha’s place to eat Foodworx with her again, this time getting delicious Spaghetti (I learned my lesson. Pasta & Meat > Salad & Vegetables). After I departed Geetha a second time, I went to my last lecture of the day where Professor McKenna showed us an interesting clip from “Do the Right Thing”. She was an okay lecturer, but I had trouble staying awake in her class. Maybe it’s the 6:30 PM class time (something I will never do again now that I’m moving off campus). When class ended, I went to PC for a bit where I encountered and hugged Victoria, Briana, and Jenny. They were reuniting with one another, making my random encounter #1,2, & 3 of the day.

I then proceeded to Price Center Plaza where Tyler, Manuel, Tim, Lauren, & I all had a conversation about rent. It was a tad bit awkward at times confronting our first problem as an apartment, but Lauren eventually gave in agreeing to pay the $500. That makes my rent now lower at $415 a month. After that, we talked for about roughly 30 minutes, before Manuel and I departed for GEISEL, to study for a bit. At Geisel, I randomly encountered Alexis (#4), and Alethia Yu (#5), chatting with them for only a tiny bit. Geetha and I reunited as I wrote something amazing on the white board at Geisel, ultimately marking my picture of the day. I was hoping it would stay on there, but Geetha erased it. We left shortly thereafter, going to TapEx where Geetha ordered French Fries, and I randomly encountered Tran Tran (#6), Robert Tran (#7, who still owes me Korean BBQ), and An Yu (#8). Now, I’m supposed to hang out with all these people at some point but I have no idea when that’s going to happen. Summer, hopefully. After we left TapEx, we shortly departed for the third time ultimately calling it a night.
