Day 116: PreGaming SunGod

April 26th, 2011

The PRE-GAMING STARTS NOW! And by Pre-Gaming for SunGod I mean downloading all the music, and listening to it in preparation for the big day. What a loser I am hehe. “You want to be! A loser like me…”

Today, 2 of my classes got cancelled! That was about the most exciting thing that happened today, but not surpassing one of the best Glee episodes of the season! I went to my first class of the day, went to Goodies with Henry, went to the library to return a book, and then went to EH&S to work (instead of what would have been my literature class). Afterwards I went to class to take my quiz, went to my apartment to edit a UCSD Cares Brochure, went to Foodworx to table for ICRA’s blood bash with Charlene and Geetha, hung out with Geetha for a bit, and then went back to my place to study, watched Glee with Amy (EPISODE WAS SO GOOD & 90 MINUTES LONG), and did some more studying. Simultaneously, I pre-gamed SunGod music taking a picture of my newly obtained SunGod bookmarks, which I will nver use for reading purposes. Having started to listen to all the artists performing at the main stage, I must say… Crystal Castles is terrible. Wiz Khalifa is not as bad as I thought he would be. Mike Posner’s other songs on his album aren’t quite as good, making Jimmy Eat World the most exciting thing I’m looking forward to that night. I did give them all a chance though!

History
On April 26th, 1986, An explosion and fire at the No. 4 reactor of Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine resulted in a nuclear meltdown sending radioactivity into the atmosphere. The Radiation fallout spread throughout Europe The Chernobyl disaster is considered the largest nuclear accident in history. And now, everyone uses it to avoid using nuclear power. NIMB. Sad.
News
Time may be running out much faster than we thought for the United States. In just five years, China may lay claim to the title “World’s Largest Economy”. This is not coming from China fearmongers or doomsayers – this is according to the International Monetary Fund and its new GDP forecasts. The numbers: China’s gross domestic product will rocket $8 trillion in the next five years to $19 trillion. The U.S. GDP will grow $3.5 trillion in the same timeframe to $18.8 trillion. And it will be in that year – 2016 – that China’s slice of world output will start to edge past the United States’: 18% versus 17.7%. In the years after, that gap is forecast to widen. OH HELL NO.
