Today was stressful, to say the least. I made up a word in order to encompass the day’s events, not loving the studying going on at all. I woke up, and immediately went to Phil’s BBQ with Rosario, Jake, Lauren, Alex, & Matt Diamond. I got a full rack and finished most of it, but for some reason, I think BBQ definitely tastes better at dinner time than it does at lunch. Shrug. After me and Rosario hung up so door tags for PAW’s Pie Day, I walked over to ERC to work on the video project for my Computer Game Studies class with Johan, Katie, and Tyler. IT TOOK FOREVER. While Tyler and I recorded sound clips, Katie and Tyler split some clips. Inevitably we made probably one of the worst documentaries of all time, but hopefully the professor will be lenient in its grading. Finally, Tyler drew me a better map of Ancient Greece because my map ultimately failed, and it helped me prevail in my studying.
Immediately after I rushed to the library to start studying. I bumped into my friend Alexis, left her to study with Geetha and Rashika (who left). After I went to Price Center to eat some Burger King cause I was hungry. When Geetha came from her Co-Board study break we studied for a bit, and then headed to JK wood to study. While there, we would study until Bee-John came. Admist rap battles, and a failed all nighter, I got some studying done, but tomorrow will definitely be where studying to the max occurs. By the end of the day, the clock switched from 2:00 to 3:00 as we all lost an hour studying due to Daylight Savings Time. FAIL.
| Environmental pressure groups are calling on governments in the US, India, China, Turkey, and Indonesia to abandon new nuclear power stations and large waste dump projects or greatly raise safety standards after it emerged that many of the proposed developments are planned for areas vulnerable to earthquakes and tsunamis. According to the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Authority, 20% of the world’s 442 working commercial nuclear power stations are in areas of “significant” seismic activity. With the nuclear industry hoping to build 350 new reactors within 20 years to meet soaring electricity demand and to counter climate change, the risk of a nuclear catastrophe from a natural disaster is growing significantly, they say. EFF THAT, Nuclear Power is in our future. :(.

On March 12th, 1993, President Roosevelt gives his first ” fireside chat ” radio broadcast just 8 days after his inauguration telling the American people to keep faith with their country and their banking system, and asking them to leave their money in the bank where it would be kept safe . His chats to the people through these “fireside chats ” on this day and future days were made friendly and informative but keeping them easy to understand by all and many consider helped him win an unprecedented 3 terms of office. This is his fireside chat about the fail of the banking system which especially today. He was a courteous president, but unfortunately not a very good one. |
