Sundays are slow, and I like them that way. Today I woke up, did a little homework, then went to Costco & Ralph’s with Lauren Coleman. You know what’s fun? Getting free Samples from Costco, they’re delicious! I bought some Valentine’s Day candy for PAW’s Valentine Day’s Extravaganza happening this Thursday. After we came back, me and Lauren went to SAC’s Superbowl party, where I took a relatively pretty picture of the BBQ machine. If there’s anything that can symbolize America better, it’s the BBQ machine (and the flag, the eagle, Jack Bauer, etc…). Burgers were good, and I got a chance to talk to Rosario & Germaine there, also chatting a bit with Michelle and Louise, the same girls I saw yesterday at the Tailgate. Free Food = Win!
After that I went back and did some homework, going in and out to catch glimpses of the Superbowl. Christina Aguilera really did this country a disservice by messing up the national anthem, the Black Eyed Peas had nice visuals but really lacked in overall quality (style over substance, I would say), and I could care less that the Packers beet the Steelers by the end of the night. Me & Amul ate at CV, and after I watched Glee with Matt & Rosario. It was a good episode, and hopefully if it gets good enough ratings more people will watch on Tuesday nights! The night ended with me doing some session preparation, paw preparation, class planning, and homework preparation.
| Christina Aguilera hit all the right notes during her pre-Super Bowl performance of the national anthem. But the right lyrics? Not so much. Aguilera completely dissed both the ramparts and the fact that o’er them, we could see the broad stripes and bright stars gallantly streaming, by skipping that line entirely. Instead she sang: “What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last gleaming.” That was a pseudo-repeat of the earlier lyric, “What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming. It’s okay, Everybody makes mistakes. | ![]() |
