Today was the complete opposite of yesterday. In the words of Orianthi, Everything is opposite, I don’t feel like stopping it. With everything feeling like it was in peril yesterday – my camera gone, a midterm I needed to study for… my picture was simultaneously simply, a picture of my room in BLACK AND WHITE (better than black and yellow I suppose). My excuses are twofold: 1) in honor of black history month or 2) A critical/sad moment in my life. I think I’m going to stick with that: if anything bad happens within project 365 for the next 332 days, the picture will indeed be in black and white in order to exemplify in more than just words, my mood. After all, a picture says a 1000 words, right?
In terms of what happened today, here’s a rundown. The day technically started with me, Amul, and Kunal going to Germaine’s place to sing her happy birthday. There was a mob of people there and it was pretty hectic, but in the end I was able to sneak away to go study and sleep. I woke up and got quite a depressing email from the One Stop Desk saying they did not have my camera. I called the UCSD Police department and they did not have my camera. So I ordered a new one, feeling as guilty as ever. I did P90x while simulataneously studying for my midterm, later ate at Burger King with Alexis – where we bumped into Tyler Nelson and talked for a bit…. and also Wafa, who happened to come and go in a matter of 2 minutes. Shrug. After my class, I went to the ICRA Office to study – found out they couldn’t bring a locksmith today, so I went to the library, and figured I’d go back to the office tomorrow or Friday. I then went to Price Center for a bit, where I gave my friend John Torres a call – who told me Sunshine Market got a camera in their lost and found today. I went in and found it. It was definitely a miracle, and I was SUPER HAPPY. John Torres is my hero for the day, and maybe even the month. <24. In honor of finding the camera, I have placed the picture I took of yesterday of Price Center as the picture of the day: I.E., the place I lost the camera and where my heart stopped and the place I found the camera and my heart started running again. I then took Computer Studies midterm, which was relatively easy – although one of the short answer questions was extremely vague…. I had no idea how to answer it, nor did Katie, Tyler, or Johan. After the midterm, I was relieved.
I went to Goodies with Tyler & Johann after, we ate, and then we had an NRHH meeting. In between NRHH & ICRA, which happened to an hour this week – I watched some ridiculous youtube videos with Tyler, Zoe Keller, and Lauren… and also went to Goodies with Geetha & Charlene. Yum. Then there was ICRA – where our clique basically was all in one commitee, and where Jorge pretty much yelled at me for locking the ICRA closet and sighing during the meeting. TOO BAD I DON’T CARE!!!!!! By the end of the night, me, Amul, Matt, and Lauren walked back – went to Earl’s, and called it a night. I did laundry, and did some homework. In summary, EVERYTHING IS OPPOSITE of yesterday. My midterms are done, so I’m relieved. I have my camera again, so my guiltiness is gone, and my friend Earle is happy again. The funny thing is, without my 365 blog, my friend John Torres probably would have never known I lost my camera, so in the end, that’s more reason for being a truly PUBLIC person. Although to be honest, I don’t share EVERY detail of my life on this blog. Some things stay hidden for one reason or another (i.e. my hatred for a person or secret crushes, etc.)
| Senate Democrats on Wednesday blocked a Republican effort to repeal the health care law passed last year. The party-line vote, with all 47 Republicans in favor and 51 Democrats opposed, meant the procedural motion failed to get the necessary 60 votes to pass. Two Democrats didn’t vote. FAIL :(. | ![]() |

On February 2nd, 1925, Sears opens it’s first retail store in the Merchandise building ( part of it’s headquarters building in Chicago ). The first retail store was just an expansion of it’s existing catalog business started in the 1890’s. Too bad I never shop there. Although I do have to walk in, if I’m entering that side of the mall. Hehe. 😀 |
P.S.: In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem. From time to time we’ve been tempted to believe that society has become too complex to be managed by self-rule, that government by an elite group is superior to government for, by, and of the people. Well, if no one among us is capable of governing himself, then who among us has the capacity to govern someone else? All of us together, in and out of government, must bear the burden. – Ronald Reagan.
