January 21st 2011

This morning I did the following: P90x –> Class –> Pines with Adam –> Class (quiz in Ancient Greece which was super easy!) –> Work! –> ICRA Executive Meeting.

At the ICRA Executive Meeting today we played a resume building game and were divided basically into two teams: me, Amul, Cindy, Lauren, & Bijohn vs. Geetha, Jorge, Nicole, & Rashika. Fortunately neither team won… but essentially we were supposed to get out of the exercise to communicate better with one another, and basically be better friends….. which is nice I guess. I’m just hoping it’s not to make us less “cliquish”, cause that really shouldn’t be forced upon us like that.

After the event, me and Amul went to the PAW Video Games Day Event. Unfortunately, most people did not show up… mostly PAW members Matt, Alex, Rosario, Tyler, & Jake. And Amy & Kunal kind of. And also Victoria Payne. Henry was one of the only non-PAW members there. Angie also popped in for a bit, and so did my wonderful R.A. Dina, who I must play Scrabble with at some point. After the event (including clean-up), me, Jake, Alex, Tyler, Lauren, Amul, & Matthew all went to go eat. After much exploring, we finally settled on Elijah’s…. where I finally realized both Alex and Matt are Jews (kind of). It was a Jewish restaurant, and it was kind of nice, so I felt obligated to name my blog title of the day accordingly. Tyler sadly left for a party. Afterwards we went to Ralph’s where I saw a WONDERFUL Valentine’s Day display that I just had to pick for the picture of the day. The night ended relatively early, cause most of us are going to the Warren Leadership Conference tomorrow. AT 9 AM. BOO!

Just when we were thinking a 24 movie might not ever happen, Kiefer Sutherland says it’s going to begin shooting December or January, at the latest. “It’s something we’re very excited about,” he tells Extra’s A.J. Calloway, acknowledging that the script has been a work in progress – “and probably will be right until the day we start shooting.” Hopefully this isn’t Kiefer Sutherland just being overally optimistic, and it happens. <24!
On January 21st, 1998, News of the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky affair is published, and Bill Clinton vigorously denies all the allegations. It’s a shame that Clinton’s presidency was overshadowed by his affair – his presidency was mostly a good one (although he could have done better on the foreign relations front). He helped reduce the warfare state in America and signed Don’t Ask Don’t Tell into law. Also, The Clinton Global Initiative is in April, which I will be going to!

P.S.: What I had was tried and true, but all I want is you. So I’m trying hard not to fight it, light this fire stare right beside it, and if I go down at least I’ll go in flames. And I’ll sing it out at the top of my lungs – the choir is small but it sings a big song, and if I go down at least you know my name.
