The day “started” with me, Lauren, and Amul playing scrabble till the wee hours of 4 AM in the morning. Granted, we were talking most of the time, but it was all very enjoyable times, until I fell into a deep, deep slumber.
At 12, my friends from Orange County Jerick and Brian Vo came, and I showed them around Warren for a little. We played a bit of Super Mario Brothers Wii before we got tired and ultimately decided it was time to go to Phil’s. We went… at 2 PM, and there was still a huge line (1.5 hour wait), but in the end it was worth it. I’ve decided consciously to not go to Phil’s as much after today because it be both a) burn a hole through my wallet and b) defeat the entire purpose of doing P90x.
When we got back, I got a huge Phil’s coma and just knocked out. So did Jerick apparently, when we were all watching “Jersey Shore” and some show on MTV about losing weight. After we emerged from our food coma I woke up and ultimately showed the two around the campus in key locales: Warren Bear, Price Center, Graffiti Room, Stonehenge, Geisel, etc. Then they left, and I started to do my homework.
The day’s ending directly paralleled its beginning – with me & Amul ultimately playing Scrabble (him winning).
| U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has been upgraded from critical to serious condition, eight days after being shot through the brain at a public event. “The congresswoman continues to do well,” University Medical Center in Tucson said Sunday in a statement.
Giffords has been off the ventilator and breathing on her own, through a tracheotomy tube, since a surgical procedure on Saturday. A feeding tube was inserted as part of the same operation, which took place exactly one week after a bullet went in and out of her skull. This makes me happy. I wish her luck in her recovery. |

On January 16th, 2009, Bank Of America the largest in the U.S. will receive $20bn in fresh US government aid and $118bn worth of guarantees against bad assets. This is in addition to the $25bn in capital injections from the Troubled Assets Relief Programme, known as Tarp Bank of America has already received. I disapprove. If a company is going to fail, let it fail on its own, don’t bail it out – that defeats the whole point of capitalism, the Protestant work ethnic – hence it led to the emergence of the Tea Parties within the United States. Too bad I also have a Bank of America account myself… ironically enough. |
P.S.: But I had to let go of the pain, let love rain down on me. Cause you helped me open up my eyes, show me things I could never see. Cause we can fight and we make up. Wanna see you when I wake up. I’m staying with you only. Cause I need you to show me how our love should really be.
