Day 7: Bowls of Fun

January 7th 2011

The week has really shaped my thinking on many things, from how to “have fun” (especially with bowls) and how to be “involved on campus”.

First Things first, what I did today: P90x –> Class –> Pines with Adam –> Class –> Price Center –> ICRA Exec Board Meeting (with Jason, Jorge, Cindy, Bijan –> Rashika, Geetha, Amul, Windi, & Nicole) –> Tzu Ching Orientation with Amul, Jessica, & Bijan [FREE Costco PIZZA & CHINESE NOODLES]–> Bowling & Yogurt Land with Amul, Alex, Rosario, Lauren, Matt Diamond, Jake, Tyler, Baby V. Payne & Julia (+2 of her friends whose names I forgot)

What really saddens me, although it was fun, I missed a trip to Phil’s San Marcos, and a reunion with Michelle Song, for the ICRA Exec Board meeting (mandatory), and for the Bowling Trip (which I couldn’t ditch because I technically planned it 1.5 weeks in advance -_-). I guess that teaches me to not plan things anymore that far in advance, and just to wait to see what happens. Sigh

What really pisses me off though, is ICRA. Although it’s fun and all (partially), I feel like the President doesn’t treat me with a ton of respect… and basically shoots down every single idea I have. I also feel like certain elements in the club would be better off being dismantled (i.e. retreat, the leadership series which nobody goes to, and upcoming retreat – which we were told a week in advance about instead of earlier -_-). Whatever, I’m over it. Next year, I don’t plan to stay in ICRA, although I’m glad I did this year because of the wonderful people I have met. ACCB/WTCC has proven itself this week to be more fun clubs, and having less “stupid stuff” involved.

The end of the day however were bowls of fun! I went bowling with a huge group of people (so sad that Katie & Kunal couldn’t join us), and then we had “bowls” of Yogurt at Yogurtland (my picture of the day also). Don’t you just love the way I put on that pun and used it as my title? Out of all the scores, I got third place with 107, only being beaten by Alex and Tyler, two other white people.

Furthermore, me and Julia had a Pokemon naming contest, in which she forfeited because she was unable to name anymore. She left shortly thereafter, and so did all of us.
