Flashback: Senior Year [Summation] Part 2

Here are some blog updates from second semester (courtesy of my past Xanga) – some noteworthy events – winter formal, the formation and continuation of F&G (freaks and geeks), Graduation (duh) :

February 2nd, 2008:

I’m probably going to Brian’s house to play some poker.
Oh, how exciting.
And then I have to go to work today! AHH!

February 4th, 2008:

My classes were pretty much normal.
APES was very much the same. English 2nd period is much smaller, and it’s nice to know that Brian Nguyen stole my seat in English, and Jonathan Elizalde sits next to him. In third period I had to wait quite a long time because Mr. Blair was “busy”, before I could go off to TA for Mr. Durand. 4th period was Culinary Arts and I can already tell that class is going to be a nightmare – too many academically challenged kids + a very very uncontolling teacher is a bad combination. Finally ECON was pretty good, but I miss the values of Ms. Dand’s Republican ways. Calculus was just Calculus, the only class I have a C in.

Ugh. Take back the future.

Winter formal was fun, but slightly overrated. The music sucked but I won King.

February 6th, 2008:

John Mccain Won a ton of states yesterday!
OH YESSSSSSSSSSSS.

In other news, school’s going fine, I suppose.
Chinese New Year is tomorrow. Not that it matters, cause I’m white. Kay. bye.

February 10th, 2008:

I FORGOT to post a blog on Friday! There goes my every other day plan. UGH! It may not seem like a big deal, but it’s a big deal to me, and that means everything.

Well anyway, in other news I’m totally addicted to Facebook Texas Holdem poker. I got 20k in two days, and lost it all. (LOL). It’s so fun.

Tomorrow No school ! Yay.

I think I’m just going to post blogs when I feel like it from now on.

Because it starts in my SOUL! . DUH!

February 16th, 2008:

This weekend is turning out to be a mixed blessing.

On Friday, I went to watch JUMPER! with a bunch of people which included George, Thiep, Brian, Christian, Tony, Jose… and a bunch of Juniors. Anyway, the movie in essence wasn’t worth 8 dollars. The love scene was 15 seconds, and was way too short. The plot sucked. The main character wasn’t likeable. A bank robber, C’MON! The villian was black, RACIST! (not really, but I just wanted to bring this up). What else.. what else.. It reminded me of star wars, except in this part the mother is evil and he’s good. Anyway <24 Summer/Rachel Bilson.

Afterwards we went “eating” at Pizza Hut… McDonald’s.. BLEH, semi-fun.
Next off we went in a car. With 7 guys in a car, we heard James Blunt’s Beautiful on the radio and we started singing it. SERIOUSLY. WTF. LOL. And then we all decided to go to “the beach” for no reason. Absolutely not reason at all. But it was fun.
Then we went to Stanford Elementary and planned to climb the roof, but we were too lazy. Instead, we just jumped the fence and umm… started walking in the pitch darkness around the grass and playground. I swear that school has to be haunted. Then I got dropped off. Immediately after, George got a ticket. UGH, I missed out on that. But Anyway, that was it for Friday.

Saturday & Sunday are in essence the SAME. EXACT. THING. I have work both days. =[
On Monday I will go to the dentist and discuss the significance of all the Presidents of the US OF A.

February 24th, 2008:

California weather is way too strange. First cloudy. Than rainy. Than cloudy. Than sunny. Then cloudy with the sun. Than rainy with the sun. Than rainy and cloudy (Oh wait…)

Anyway, Rain often reminds me of ‘Ricky the raindrop” and the good old days of indoor recess and elementary school. That got me thinking. If life was MUCH simpler; if we didn’t have to worry about careers, our future, school, grades, homework, teachers, love… everything would be better. But that’s not my call.

Anyway, my weekend was okay. I didn’t do much. No VOC event Saturday, so instead I went driving. I still am nervous and keep moving from left to right. However, I think it’s safe to say I’m not going to run over any more mailboxes. I had work yesterday. I met a new coworker. He’s Native American and SURPRISE SURPRISE DOESN’T PARTY, which means I can carry on a decent conversation with him without turning it into something I don’t want to talk about.

Next week should be fun. I called off work next Saturday so I can go to the Quizbowl (UCI) tournament. YAY, NERDS UNITE! The great thing about UCI is that there’s so much fast food locales around (unlike UCLA whiich there is nothing to choose from). Besides if I don’t get accepted into UCLA, UCI’s the way. UCSD is a maybe for now. I’m waiting for UCLA to SEND ME MY ACCEPTANCE or REJECTION letter (hopefully acceptance).

In other news, there’s not much going on. Just school. Hmm, and 24 doesn’t return until January 2009. BUMMER! Stupid Writer’s Strike! Oh well, at least House is going back in March. OH yeah, and there’s an asian on American Idol. Ramielle Malubay – She’s Filipino. Most filipino don’t think they’re asian though, which is kind of strange. What race would they consider themselves? The way I see things there are only four real races: WHITE, BLACK, YELLOW, AND BROWN.

And there’s never any rain where you want it,
A hollow little game and you want,
Looking for a thrill but you’ve done it all.

February 25th, 2008:

If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything.

I won’t say “anything.” WHOOPS, too late.

March 2nd, 2008:

I’m basically going to try to condense this summary of my weekend.

First off, on Friday, I went with Tony, George, Christian, Jose, Juan, and Kennedy to 7/11 to buy Slurpees, to the park to play like children, and to Hooters to eat like adults. It was so strange, because we made a giant leap from childhood to adulthood from the traveling between the two places. Playing on the swings, and playing on the slide reminded me of my CHILDHOOD. Going to Hooters was just awkward. A bunch of girls in really really low shorts. Family restaurant? UMM OKAY. They sucked at dancing. And Jose spilled a drink. And we overtipped them with 18 bucks.

Saturday. UCI Quizbowl tournament. That was pretty fun, I suppose. I suppose I might as well get used to it, seeing as I’ll probably have to go to that school if UCLA or UCSD rejects me.

Today is Sunday. I have complicated all my hwk, and that’s a GREAT feeling. Tuesday, there’s a field. and Wednesday there’s late-start. This is going to be a great week.

As for my 2008 American Idol picks, I choose David Archuleta & Brooke White.

March 13th, 2008:

Last weekend I went to Fullerton College. They had a film festival. It was probably the best VOC event ever.
I also got my Wisdom teeth removed, which really really hurts. And it’s been hurting for a while now. I can’t really eat anything. But I’m slowly re-learning how to bite yet again.

This weekend I’m going to the Discovery Science Center Bubblefest, which will be great. I hope I get stuck inside a bubble.

Bonfire tomorrow, hopefully. And hopefully a less painful Sunday & week.

PS: I’m waiting on UCLA.

March 17th, 2008:

Anyway, here’s a quick status update. MMKAY. So the Bubblefest Event was cancelled last week, BOO. But that’s okay, I still went to a Bonfire on Friday & that was semi-fun for the most part. Okay, next saturday will be a new event. Jamal won’t be there, so I guess I’m in charge. Hopefully, my leadership skills will be revived.

So I’m still waiting on UCLA. I think their admission status is March 27th. Boy, that is too far away =[. I want it to be here. But I got accepted into UCSD & UCI, which are probably good safety nets in case UCLA rejects me (which it hopefully won’t).

As far as school is concerned, I’m doing semi-decent. We’re reading Heart of Darkness in English now, and for the most part it’s a pretty tedious, depressing book. HMM. I don’t know… what else… OH! I need to buy ink for my printer still. UM. And a USB drive.

Anyway, I need to find good sources of new music! Somehow… as long as it isn’t mainstream! ahh

April 8th, 2008:

I’m blue! Da Ba Dee Da Ba die. Da Ba dee Da Ba die. Da Ba dee Da Ba die.

Anyway,
I haven’t blogged in a while. Sometimes, it takes my mine off the real seriousness of the world. Of course, it always ends up I’m too lethargic to carry any real stylistic format in blogging.

I’ll pursue a stream of consciousness technique, and just go in random order talking about my life.

So we’ve been reading Heart of Darkness in English. I have to admit at first I HATED the book, but I’ve grown to realize its importance – it kind of teaches about the darkness of mankind, during imperialism. Of course, if we look around, there are STILL evil people in this world (terrorists, etc.)

In other news, UCLA rejected me. So my plans are as follows: I’m probably going to end up going to UCSD. Depressing? Kind of. But not really. Hopefully, more people are going there with me, so the ride will be a litlte more stable.

My spring break plans are as follows. On friday I went to this dinner thing, which was pretty fun. Until an “pepper spray” attack attacked everyone, and everyone started coughing. It was really scary. Inside Kabuki, everyone started coughing (including the waiters). Tuan seemed to enjoy his birthday though. Yesterday I filmed my Heart of Darkness video. I realize how important it is to have friends that willing to waste a day to help my grade. Selfless people. <24. And then I went to Eden’s to help her with hers.

I have to go to Disneyland sometime this week.

I’ll probably end up going to the beach on Wednesday.

I need to edit my video today.

And . last, but not least UCSD admit day is Saturday. I’ll be there. Hopefully Howard’s parents can take me.

April 18th, 2008:

Graduation is coming up. In 42 school days (By June 18th, 2007) I will receive a high school diploma and be walking down in the blazing hot sun. Joy.
But until then, there are several things I still HAVE to achieve before the year’s end.

1) It’s easy this year. There is no California Star Testing for us Seniors. Instead we’re more concerned with AP tests! AP tests I need to study for include English, Calculus, Civics, Environmental, and the Micro&MicroEconomics. All these are within a period of 2 weeks. Besides this level of testing, I still have to take the UC placement exam on May 10th ***which means unfortunately I will miss the Aids Walk, which WAS a yearly tradition for me. Oh well.

2) A rite of passage is necessary before I graduate. I’m not doing it for anyone else, but I need a signal that will transition me from being a teenager into an actual adult. Hopefully, graduation won’t be it – because that’s WAY too typical.

3) In television news, 24 is likely to occur in January 2009. By then I’ll be dorming in either a Double or a Triple dorm room with Howard Nguyen at University of California, San Diego: Warren College. It’s sad how the years have passed by so quickly. On American Idol, only 6 remain – and at this point I only want David Cook to win. Sadly, Brooke White’s time is going to end soon, I can just feel it.

4) I need to figure out which people I can truly trust, and which people are talking smack behind my back in high school. It’s relatively easy to do; I’ll figure out the “method to this madness”. As soon as I’m done, I’ll know who NEVER to speak to after high school, and who to ensure keeping in touch with.

5) I need to get a Laptop, as well as a cell phone. Unfortunately, I know I don’t have enough as proven by my savings (LOL, it keeps shrinking). Unfortunately, I hate working at Popeyes, so it looks more and more likely that I’ll apply to another location. Maybe they’ll accept me. MAYBE. Just Maybe.

Spring Break was fun. Going to the beach + Disneyland + San Diego was relatively fun. I need to focus on school for the time, and as soon as the AP tests are over, senioritis will hit, and I will relax up to the Fall of 2008, where I will be attending UCSD.

April 21st, 2008:

AHH! I’m freaking out over AP tests. Maybe I shouldn’t have signed up for so many. I’m pretty certain I will pass the AP English & AP Civics exam. For Ap environmental and AP calculus, I have to review, because everyone knows math & science are not my particularly strong areas.

It’s okay though, I will endure. As for Economics, I bought a review book, but I can’t seem to grasp the subject. It’s way too complicated. There are too many graphs involved. Oh well.

With school over almost, I’m relieved. But then again, I’ll miss Rancho. A little.

April 24th, 2008:

There are 38 days of school. In those days, nearly half of them will be reserved for studying and taking ap tests. After that, it’s stress-free until college comes.

Of course, it’s not everyday you can say “I’m almost done with high school.” Well, that’s just the thing! Maybe I don’t want to leave.

I . don’t. think. I’m. ready . to leave.

I mean, I’m looking forward to college and all, but I realize I might not ever see any of my friends again, and even if I do, it won’t be the same, because they’ll all be separated. There won’t be a single union holding us together, in the case of Rancho. And I know over the years, I haven’t been very positive towards Rancho – (considering its bathroom). Clearly though, as long as you’re not a loner in high school, you are going to miss your friends, no matter what school you’re going to.

I have to remember to post my high school memoirs, on who I will most remember.

Stress now. Relax later. I’m probably going to go study for AP tests now.

PS: David Cook is one step closer to being the next American Idol.

April 27th, 2008:

Why do people change. I know so many people who used to be good people, who went to the so and so “dark side”. Why do people change? Is it because their parents are too strict or because they feel a new to seem independent? Or is it simply that people don’t really change, but a collection of life experiences evolve them into the person they become. Whichever the case, I am BEYOND disappointed in some of the people that I used to be friends with.

I’ll always remember them though, even if I end up not ever talking to them again.

In much happier news, I saw “Harold and Kumar escape from Guantanamo” on Friday. It was SO FUNNY. If you consider it, it’s one of the most racist movies ever, but that’s what makes it so great – it makes fun of ALL RACES, so that makes it okay. It’s primarily liberal.

Today I went to the Fullerton Days Event, which was very fun. I got to be a little kid again through painting, face painting, sunflower coloring, coloring, ice cream eating, storytime listening, jenga playing, lego playing, baseball throwing, and getting free stuff! AHAHA.

April 28th, 2008:

So today us “Seniors” were supposed to be in the South Gym for “Senior Activities”. Guess what they did!? Guess! They watched Juno, staring Jennifer Garner. BIG DEAL. Anyway, us English AP students got a connection so we didn’t have to go to school till 9:15 to take a MOCK AP English exam (for extra credit, of course). Tomorrow will be along the lines of the SAME THING, but I hope to accomplish a few things, including going to Starbucks in the morning.

Maybe for economics, I shouldn’t focus on the graphs as hard. It’s likely that I can still pass without knowing the graphs, even though there’s a big chunk on that.

Here are the scores I think I’m going to accomplish (without further studying)
economics – 2 or 3
environmental – 3 or 4
civics – 4 or 5
english – 3, 4, or 5. I really don’t know.
calculus – 2 or 3.

By the way, House was good tonight, and so was Gossip Girl except Serena kinda pissed me off.

May 4th, 2008:

Yesterday was the AP study session. In attendance was Nhi, Mikhail, Earth, Jonny, Chris, Eva, Judy, Noemi, Stephanie, Sonny, Howard, and Brian. It was rather helpful, despite some of the digressing that occurred.

People don’t change. They just turn into the person they were meant to become.

May 9th, 2008:

I just don’t understand people as well as I do anymore. With 27 days of school left, I don’t understand why anyone would ditch school. Actually, I do get it. They’re tired of high school. They’re tired of the busy work. They’re tired of all the fake people, and senioritis has hit them. Still, with 27 days left that means, if you look around that’s the 27 last days of your life in high school – the last time you’ll see all the same people you see everyday ever again. Sure, you might bump into a few of them later in life, but it’ll never be THAT EASY to see all of them in one day. It just won’t.

I’ll get my yearbook as early as the end of May, or as late as the end of June. I’m excited, purely because I want to see what the “theme” of the year is. I’ve been asking all year, and none of the yearbook staff has dignified my question with a response.

Tomorrow is my UC placement exam, and Sonny is going to drive me to it. He’s such a nice guy, and I’ll miss him especially as high school ends. I heard the test is a piece of cake, especially since (correct me if I’m wrong), we have 2 hours to write a single essay. There’s no reading comprehension. Since essays are my strong suit, I think I’ll do fine enough. I’m not however looking forward to the UC math placement exam. Bad timing, too. The Aids Walk is also tomorrow – something I’ve gone to Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior year. Each year as I can recall was especially memorial, despite me losing most of the shirts from each year (oops). I really want to go, but it conflicts with the college schedule. AHH! It was on a Sunday, and they decided to move it to a Saturday, starting last year (as well as to Angel Stadium instead of University of California, Irvine). AHH!

In television news, David Cook is in the top 3. I’m confident he’ll make it to the top 2 and end up winning the whole thing. Meanwhile, 24 returns with a special 2-hour prequel to the 7th day this September on FOX, while Prison Break and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles are renewed for a new season. Hell’s Kitchen has been particularly entertaining, but I have a feeling they put terrible chefs on that show for Gordon Ramsey to yell at. Finally, Serena killed someone on Gossip Girl! OMG, talk about a huge plot twist.

In AP news, I’ve taken 3 ap tests – including AP English, AP Calculus, and AP Civics. I thought AP Civics was easy (5), AP English was average (3,4, or 5) and Calculus I don’t know what happened (2, but hopefully 3). Next week I have Environmental, which I’m confident I’ll pass as well as Economics (Macro AND Micro), which I definitely need to brush up if I expect to have ANY chance of passing. In Hamamoto’s English class now we’re focusing more on watching movies and analyzing director’s techniques – we are going to watch the Last of the Mohicans, Birds, The Wizard of Oz, Sense & Sensibility, etc.

Just when it feels like high school is finally getting better, it’s ending. GREAT! (sarcasm / verbal irony)

With everything I’ve ever done,
I’d give it all to everyone for ONE MORE DAY.
Another night, I’m waking through,
Another door, I wake into. I can’t break.

And it’s a winding road, and it’s a long way oh.

So don’t wait for someone to tell you it’s too late.
Cause these are the best days,
There’s always something tomorrow, so I’ll say
Let’s make the best of tonight,
Here comes the rest of our lives.

May 12th, 2008:

Regarding School:
With only three AP tests (Environmental, Macroeconomics, and Microeconomics), I am almost done with high school. Even so, the level of studying I have done for each of these subjects are not that high. 24 days left. In some ways, that’s a good thing. In other ways, that’s terrible.
Rancho’s 50th anniversary is this Saturday. I can’t wait to go. It seems so enticing & exciting. I wonder how many alumni are actually going to show up though. If it’s not a lot, the event will turn out to be a bust =[

Regarding Work:
I haven’t gone to Popeyes in 2 weeks, partially because I’m lazy, partially because of AP test studying, and partially because I hate it there. However, I will return this Saturday with a positive attitude to see how far I can last. AHAHA. I need to start applying for new jobs soon (or else)!

Regarding The Future:
I don’t know how life in the summer is going to work. I don’t know how UCSD is going to work. I don’t know. I don’t know. But all I do know, is I’ll try to my best to ensure all the relationships I’ve made in high school last indefinitely.

May 15th, 2008:

I’ve started rekindling my bond with Christmas music. To indulge in listening to Christmas music in the music of May may be hindering the pleasure of listening to it in December, but I don’t mind. Whichever works, I suppose.

I’m starting to seriously think there’s something wrong with the Class of 2008. Nobody really stands out as a genius, as far as I can tell. And there’s too many crazy people in our class. Too many crazy events, etc. But that’s okay, I guess that makes us all anti-conformists as heart (yeah, right).

I’m beginning to think high school is nothing more than a hole for gossip. Inevitably, everyone will be talked badly about, there’s no stopping it. However, the fact that people are so shallow and superficial that they behind someone’s back THEY DON’T EVEN TALK TO is just pathetic. Get to know someone before judging them – otherwise you’re just pathetic, and a bully trying to boost up your own self esteem any attempt you get.

Finally, AP tests are DONE ! Microeconomics & Microeconomics were pretty hard, but the multiple choice for Microeconomics was easier (making it overall an easier test).

There are approximately 22 days of school left. I’m ready. Bring on Graduation June 18th. It’s at 5 PM this year, which means it will be less hot? Also, immediately after (the day after) is UC San Diego Orienation, three days June 19th-June 21st . I get to sleep at my dorm, YAY! I’m excited.

May 18th, 2008:

Yesterday was Rancho Alamitos High School’s 50th Anniversary. Knowing this was a once in a lifetime opportunity, I came (seriously, how many 50th anniversaries can the school have?) Unfortunately, I believe more volunteers actually came to the school than Rancho Alumni themselves, but that’s okay, I suppose.
The event was pretty fun. I helped VOC, Ecology, CSF, and a bunch of other clubs. Everything was so overpriced, and the joy of ripping people off put smiles on everyone’s faces. After, I had to go to work though, which naturally, I hated. I keep getting yelled . KEEP. GETTING. YELLED. AT. Until Rancho’s 100th year Anniversary, I’ll say this is the best anniversary I’ve gone to, to date.

Recently, FOX announced its 2007-2008 Fall and Spring Primetime Lineup. Among the crowd are newcomers “Dollhouse” and a spinoff of Family guy called “The Cleveland Show”. I’m not sure Cleveland is popular or funny enough to sustain his own show, but we’ll see.
EVEN MORE EXCITEDLY, 24 returns with a 2-hour prequel that bridges the gap between the sixth day and the seventh on Sunday November 23rd, 8 – 10 PM. YAY! I’ll be at UCSD then, and I will surely need a television set.

June 10th, 2008:

All great things come to an end. High school, which is far from being deemed a “great” thing must now also come to an end. Through all the dramas and turmoils each and every experience was as enduring as the last. I couldn’t have survived high school without the following people (sorry if I left you out).

ALPHABETICALLY LISTED.

1. Alan Tran – I met you in Junior year when you were barely a freshman. Thanks for joining VOC and bringing joy to every club event you attended.

2. Amy Tran – I also met you in Junior year. You kind of inspired me to get rid of my shallowness in a way. Nevertheless, you continue to be a good friend despite all the ordeals I put you through, and vice versa.

3. Annie Vu – I was introduced to you as “Vi’s sister”, or “Jonathan’s girlfriend”, but now will always remember you as the title of “good friend.”

4. Barbara Nguyen – We met in Junior year when you and your boyfriend joined VOC. It was fun having you there, (and fun chatting with you at lunch at various times).

5. Berny Nguyen – Before you moved back to Texas, we had a great time in Choir (all the choir concerts + Knotts; raging rapidssss + double cheeseburgers. yum)

6. Bobby Vo – Despite the methods by which you keep touching people, you still remain a good friend, and still are excellent at math.

7. Bradley Robinson – As my white PE friend, you helped me avoid the Mexicans freshman and sophomore year (before you transferred to weight lifting). You taught me how a true friend should act, listening to my problems and telling jokes in an effort to cheer me up. Thanks mucho.

8. Brandon Duvall – PROM KING. Also, although we didn’t talk much in Spanish 3 (with Jackson) it was pretty clear we shared the same experience. You’d be a good friend if we hung out, but we never got around to it.

9. Brandon Richards – Rich boy. I remember being one of the first ones to talk to you when you transferred from Norco to Rancho Alamitos High School, and ultimately our English AP class. You have a nice house, and I will never forget the way you broke out your shell so rapidly, including the hooking up with Tiana.

10. Brian Nguyen – You’ve been weird at times for 4 years – but you finally evolved into yourself. Whether that’s a good thing or not is my call but you will always be a good friend (despite not inviting me to your birthday party before a certain birdie told you not to).

11. Brittany Ramirez – You shouldn’t have passed your driving test before me. I sent you study guides, and you sent me insults. I also sent you insults. It was fun while it lasted.

12. Brittney Holt – Since FACT, and for all 4 years of high school, you’ve been everything I could ask for in a friend – both a jock AND smart. You know how to balance your time wisely. Despite not talking as many AP classes as I’ve hoped you would, you still haven’t gotten any brattier like the cheerleaders at our school, and that ultimately makes you prevail.

13. Calvin Nguyen – Thanks for attending the Senior Year VOC events despite it being badly organized.

14. Carmen Tran – You’ve been a good friend since I first met you in Junior year in VOC. Through everything – the Berny and Thomas eras, I will always be a part of you, and you a part of me. I won’t forget our summer school teacher, and the teeth video we did together.

15. Catherine Nguyen – We’ve just met, but you are clearly someone who doesn’t mind being randomly im’ed online. Thanks for being supportive.

16. Christian Garcia – Through your shyness and your “Beatles” phrase, Algebra 2 trig was about the only class I shared with you. It was fun while it lasted sophomore year, but times had to change. It’s been a blast hanging with you on Friday F&G events.

17. Christopher Pham – I thought you hated me freshmen year, but it’s clear by now you don’t seem to have a vendetta against anyone. Good luck with Eva, and I hope your relationship lasts a LONG time.

18. Cynthia Nguyen – Hey John Vu Tran’s girlfriend.

19. Damaris Tomuta – Hey white buddy. We’ve been through a lot together – through the ripping of Jojo posters and other activities, to the place we are at now. Stop making fun of me. LOL.

20. Dara Nguyen – Hey freshman. I’ve known you for half a year, but it seems like so long. Thanks for being a good friend.

21. Dolly Vo – All you juniors must think I’m weird. I randomly im’ed you on AIM one day and you started blasting me with questions and insults. Good thing we became friends.

22. Earth Hassasri – El Vaquero. Thanks for driving me to various locales and for all the fun The Quizbowl events and VOC events you went to.

23. Eden Mai – You were one of the few who could break me out of my shell freshman year ultimately.

24. Emmanuel Garcia – Psychology was fun, yet I miss it.

25. Erica Carrillo – Hey pyromaniac. You were a blast freshmen year and still are. Good thing 4 years haven’t changed much. You helped me break out of my shell a little.

26. Erika Anderson – Go try out for American Idol.

27. Erika Llamas – You’re so quiet, yet I know deep down inside you have a huge personality ready to get exposed. Other than that, you’re a relatively nice person.

28. Eva Wong – We haven’t talked much since Senior year, when we actually have classes together. Every experience has been a blast, including the Calculus study sessions with Howard.

29. George Tello – Thanks for driving me places and helping me with my english videos. Thank me for providing the pizza each and every time.

30. Hanh Nguyen – You’re awesome. Your teeth surgery cost a lot, but it’s all cool as long as you can talk, with your nice voice coming out.

31. Howard Nguyen – Hey roommate. I won’t yet forget the experiences we’ve shared in PE, all the english classes, and all the complaining about various subjects and persons throughout the ages.

32. Isobel Javier – You’re really loud sometimes, but that’s what makes you awesome.

33. Jackie Dinh – You’re a Bolsa student, but you’re also a great friend.

34. Jamal Eid – You were a great friend from Freshman to Junior year, and although we drifted, I’d like to think you’re still the same person as before. I’m having my doubts though.

35. James Nguyen – Hey band geek, AKA great friend.

36. Jennifer Nguyen – I met you when you transferred into Rancho Alamitos High School. You kept bugging me with Spanish questions, but that’s okay. You’re still a good person in the end.

37. Jerick Galang – You went to my house when no one would. We had a fun time hanging out. Despite your being emo at time, I know you try your best to be happy. Good luck.

38. Jesse Badger – You’re at Bolsa, but you’re still a good friend. Thanks for keeping in touch.

I couldn’t find a good way to say goodbye…

With everything I’ve ever done,
I’d give it all to everyone for one day.

Another night, I’m waking through,
Another door, I walk into, I can’t break

And it’s a winding road,
and it’s a long way, oh.

So don’t wait for someone to tell you it’s too late
Cause these are the best days.

There’s always something tomorrow, so I’ll say
Let’s make the best of tonight.

Here comes the rest of our lives.

June 14th, 2008:

It’s going to be hard, but I have to be happy on Monday. It’s my last day with my friends; I have to say my goodbyes, and smile for the camera. Wish me luck.

Senior Finals Monday.
Senior Breakfast & Slideshow Tuesday.
Senior Luncheon & Graduation Practice & Graduation Wednesday.

The rest of summer? I don’t know. All my plans are changed now.

June 20th, 2008:

AHH! There’s something about the summertime that strikes me as odd. It’s supposed to be the transition from the end of high school to the beginning of college. So far though, I still feel like a high school student, rather than a Rancho Alamitos High School Alumni. I graduated on Wednesday. It was one of the best experiences of my life. Unfortunately, it all adds up to leaving ALL of my friends behind, or not communicating them a long time. I’ll try my best to do so this summer. I went to the Juniors’ Bonfire yesterday (instead of Grad Night @ Disneyland) which was pretty fun, and it gave me a chance to say my final goodbyes (the correct way). TOMORROW, I’m going to Eden’s graduation party, where hopefully I’ll get some closure to the end of high school, cause so far it still doesn’t feel like it’s over yet. It hasn’t hit me quite yet. So, Popeyes hasn’t called me back yet. Neither has any other workplace. ARGHH! Frustrating. If I don’t have any money at the start of college, I’m going to feel very bad. I got a replacement camera as part of my graduation present. I never got punished or yelled at for losing the camera to begin with at prom, so I’m pretty glad I have good parents that look out for me in that way. I guess they think I’m a responsible person based on my nerdy grades. ANYWAY, I also got a cell phone. People need to stop texting me. Other than that, I’m fine with it. Of course, people don’t call nearly enough as they should. I only get calls when I need something from someone or when someone needs something for me. No time for chitchat. I’ve graduated. What now… Only time will tell. PS: I loved Howard’s salutatorian graduation speech. I’m proud he’s a roommate. I also added Ross Durand on Myspace & Facebook (I can call him that now, because I’m an adult and have an edu-ma-cation.).

————–

I also got a girlfriend this year. I’m not going to go into details about this, but what I can say is that it ended on okay terms, it was a mutual breakup, and you tend to learn from your experiences/mistakes.

Here are some videos from the rest of the year. They are both rather embarrassing, and can be seen as “WTF” moments.

Goodbye :).
