Day 295: New Haircut, New Smell

October 22nd, 2011
My day was pretty simple in terms of activities. I woke up in the morning polished and refreshed from the previous night, as I chillaxed in my apartment for several hours before going to In&Out with Alex for lunch. When we got back I showed her the epic movie I made for COMT100 before she departed. She slightly enjoyed it while being simultaneously embarassed. Next, I proceeded to Sportclips to get a nice haircut there (essentially the Hooters of Haircut salons). In a strange haircut session they not only cut my hair, but put a hot towel on my face, massaged my hair with soap, and massaged my back with a neck massager. Shrug. The resulting picture of the day is my hair as a subsequent result, short, just like my Mommy likes it. I surprised Geetha with flowers afterwards where we chilled at her place for a few hours. We proceeded to Tapioca Express on campus for lunch before going back home to finish the night watching Freakonomics: the Movie, on my newly acquired Netflix one month trial!

History
In a televised speech of extraordinary gravity, President John F. Kennedy announces that U.S. spy planes have discovered Soviet missile bases in Cuba. These missile sites—under construction but nearing completion—housed medium-range missiles capable of striking a number of major cities in the United States, including Washington, D.C. Kennedy announced that he was ordering a naval “quarantine” of Cuba to prevent Soviet ships from transporting any more offensive weapons to the island and explained that the United States would not tolerate the existence of the missile sites currently in place. The president made it clear that America would not stop short of military action to end what he called a “clandestine, reckless, and provocative threat to world peace.” SCARY SHITZ.
