Kai’s First Pumpkin Patch

Part of being a parent means giving your child new experiences in life.

Which of course means now mandatory pumpkin patches every year until the child inadvertently becomes a teenager and gets bored by such festivities. We took him back to the same pumpkin patch where we took photos with our ultra-sound last year.

It does make me wonder, though: how many experiences should we give our child without accidentally spoiling him? I want to take Kai on adventures, show him the world, and fill his life with memories — but also help him stay grounded and aware of the privileges he has.

But of course that means we will spend many weekends doing simple and free things as well – such as going to going to the park, going to the library, or finding free and unique family events. It won’t be for a while because we’ll make sure these events are suitable as he continues to grow up.

Here’s to the spooky season ahead, and a shout-out to all the wonderful (and vengeful) Scorpios out there. 🎃🦂
