When I think of autumn, I think mostly of Halloween and the upcoming Scorpio season.
Leaves falling from the tree are mostly a visual used to represent the season, but in California – that doesn’t really happen.
Due to mostly climate change, there’s really no fall in California anyway since the weather seemingly stays hot all the way up until winter.
Still I’m grateful for Halloween and the fun memories as a kid going trick or treating. My siblings and I used to eat the candy the entire week after with some delicious surprises in the process. Now, pumpkin patches and pumpkin carving are seemingly a delight during this holiday season with Katherine. And of course watching horror movies, which I mostly think are funny.
Fall also coincides with my birthday, and I’ll always remember getting Vietnamese fruit cake every year for my birthday. It’s much more delicious than American fruitcake which is inedible in more ways than one.
