Week 2: A Week of Firsts

It’s technically the third week of summer, but I’m going to just pretend Week 1 didn’t happen, because that was a week of intense drama and turmoil due to the hazardous “chemical leak” aka potential explosion aka Bleve threat that almost destroyed my house.

But on a more positive note, this week was a week of many new adventures, and “firsts” for Kai.

First, Kai’s first trip to Candeeland in Santa Ana. Still not much yet for him to do – but, he thoroughly enjoyed the play pen, some kiddish activites, some huge blocks, and of course being spun round and round.

Kai also sadly had his first trip the dentist as well this week. He was a champ at the beginning, laying on me and opening his mouth for inspection. But as soon the dentist started trying to brush it or apply fluoride, his cries and temper tandrum came out. We had to force it in him, creating potential trauma for life.

With proper training, Kai is now independently able to drink whole milk, even though the way he holds the bottle is a little funny. Goodbye to feeding sessions (from Dad, at least).

Of course, the week ended in a bang in our mouths, with technically Kai’s first consumption of any food at Phil’s BBQ, even though it’s technically his 6th visit. He didn’t care much for the Broham but enjoyed the ribs. I guess I don’t need a DNA test after all.

Creating addiction from the start. Talk about generational trauma.
