Anime Parental Duties

Slowly but surely I’m becoming more and more like my parents. My needs are not nearly as important as the needs of Kai. Raising a child is no joke. But raising a “sick” child who is teething while simultaneously sick myself seems to be an even more complex level of difficulty unimaginable.

I guess it’s true you don’t appreciate life nearly as much as when you are “normal”. I’ll try to be more grateful for regular days once my cold symptoms subside.

Luckily today, Katherine and I had the opportunity to take Kai out and he was on his best behavior all 3 hours. It entailed some delicious food at California Pizza Kitchen (the service itself was terrible as usual). Upon leaving we encountered an “anime” event at GardenWalk, reminding us of course the origins of our love story. Anime conventions. It’s a bit odd seeing people cos-play for such a random event – and especially polarizing seeing men cosplay as female characters. Or even adults wearing Hentai clothing. Quite inappropriate, I must say around the face of children.

But anyway, I hope to tell Kai his hero origin story much later in life.
