One decision I need to make is whether I will continue to teach IB (international baccalaureate) next year.
The benefits are of course the fact that the students have intrinsic motivation, and there is little to no classroom management. This is probably the best set of students I’ve ever taught in my life.
The cons are of course the increased workload in planning, grading, and meeting the high expectations of those said students. Sometimes I feel like I’m suffering from a severe case of imposter syndrome where I’m clearly in over my head. I don’t want to be inadequate, which is how I feel sometimes.
But anyway, I’m sure the decision will come at some point when the master schedule for the following school year is made. We’ll see what happens. I’m currently 50/50 about it.
