Months ago, I posted various t-shirt designs my students concocted for Builder’s Club this year. I subsequently had them vote on the designs, but also did a digital survey on Instagram, resulting in the same design overwhelmingly winning.
It was tweaked a little bit, but ultimately changed to blue due to popular consent. I’m grateful that the district is helping to pay for the t-shirts, offsetting the cost for these poor underprivileged children. All because we put some anti-drug / anti-vape messaging on there. I’m confident at least 90% of the students in Builder’s Club agree with the anti-drug messaging. Not sure about the other 10%.
That being said, it’s pretty funny that this design ending up winning. I asked the student whose design ended up winning how he felt about it. He was happy, but simultaneously revealed to me that the design was actually AI generated.
I guess a computer has more CREATIVITY than all of my students combined. A true testament to my failures as club advisor. Still, I’m grateful and hopeful that students will love receiving the t-shirts and wearing them in place of their school uniform.
