Eggrolls

The foods you eat as a kid clearly shape your palate as you grow up.

One of the few meals my mom made that I continue to enjoy as an adult are her delicious egg-rolls, filled with chicken and taro. Obviously, it is eaten in combination with vermicelli, cucumbers, lettuce, and of course some much needed fish sauce. A Vietnamese delicacy.

It’s clearly superior to her beef pho, which wasn’t nearly as good growing up. Her other dishes are hit or miss for the most part.

Which of course brings to question the best Vietnamese meals I happen to enjoy, which happen to be eggrolls, broken rice with grilled pork, cornish hell chicken, and pho.

If I ever want a taste of home, and a taste of family, those dishes bring to mind all the wonderful memories I had growing up. Katherine and I will continue to have a taste of vietnamese no matter where we go.
