After sending an email with my blog link intact including all my visits to Phil’s BBQ, I got an exclusive invitation from the CEO of Phil’s to the 25th anniversary party. Of course I had to bring my wife.

When we got there, we noticed many of the patrons were either long time employees or friends and family members of Phil Pace himself. It was a pleasure to finally meet the founder of Phil’s BBQ after 207 long visits. Even though the conversation with him a little awkward (I didn’t say much), it was nice to finally take a picture with the founder of such a genius foundation that has changed so many lives.

There were speeches, beautiful live rave music featuring violin and saxophone, and an atmosphere of care and love.

The food was again delicious and stellar, giving us ribs, and two miniatures versions of their signatures sandwiches (The El Toro and the Pulled Pork). In addition they also gave us some macaroni and cheese and other delicious side dishes. I ate till I was stuffed, also taking some food to go. We also got some complementary wine and bbq sauce on our way out.

Needless to say, it was an unforgettable experience, and I’m hopeful that the 50th anniversary party will be 50x better and and 50x more special.
