Day 29: Mally Vu’s Soul Searching Journey

Mally Vu has a heart of gold. Her experiences in life has largely shaped who she is an individual, and her life pursuits. And though I haven’t talked to her in nearly 7 years, our friendship had a spark rekindled tonight through the power of Facetime and the internet, from Seattle to Los Angeles.

Over the past few years or so, Mally has been on a soul-searching journey to discover what will bring her the ultimate joy in life. Because happiness is fleeting and mostly based on temporary and material pursuits, joy as a long-term goal is more applicable to her everyday experiences.

And as she continues free-lancing her ultimate goal is to try to help other people, with the goal of mental health counseling. She believes that in loving yourself, you can reflect on how you can love other people, and build a world where everyone works together to get through the ultimate experience we call life. That is truly a beautiful thing to aspire towards, and I hope more people had the same mindset as her. We’ve always been on the same page when it came to seemingly not be able to fit into society, even though she was able to play it off better in high school. I hope everything goes well for her, and that she can make her community a better place, and in turn her city, her state, her country, and the world.

In addition to all this, she gives great advice. Although, from my new favorite book (which is hilarious), there’s many other people that apparently give great advice as well.
