Day 7: Laura Fernandez’s Bucket List

Once upon a time, Laura Fernandez had a bucket list. On this said bucket list for 2019, she has a list of things she hopes to accomplish (instead of just doing it randomly). This includes mostly traveling endeavors. On our bus ride to San Diego we had numerous conversations, the most important one being in regards to how Mexicans and Koreans are opposites. You can ask her more about if you see her.

I was happy to have her on my bus, and later chaperone group as we explored UCSD together, and I became an unofficial tour guide. I showed them around Warren college, we ate at the warren bear, I showed them Geisel library, and we ended up with an overcrowded trip to the bookstore.

The highlight of the trip though was of course my 155th trip to Phil’s bbq, where we took 100+ 7th graders all the event center at Phil’s to try the food {a 4000 value}. They has ribs, chicken, macaroni salad, French fries, and lemonade. While I definitely consumed my fair share, I also tried the veggie burger for the first time, and it wasn’t that good to be honest. But then again, I’m not a vegetarian.

Later we had circle time at the hotels where most of the students voiced Phil’s bbq as being their favorite part of the trip.

Taking all students to Phil’s is officially crossed off me and Laura’s bucket list.
