Day 22: An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge

The main character in “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge” dies via hanging, and a huge plot twist is revealed at the end that everything in the entire story (including his escape, was all in his active imagination).

I’d like to think many things are a part of my active imagination, but I imagine everything is still going up happening. I will have to teach again on Monday.

You know what’s a good thing though? I made sure to keep my composure around the incoming 6th graders and gave them one piece of advice for the next year: “Don’t talk to me till you’re in the 7th grade.”

The fun part obviously came at night with a “housewarming” party at a coworker’s mansion.

As much as I would have preferred to decimate the place, it was just a rather laid back social occasion without much room for drama. We talked about teacher stuff, and other random tidbits of useless conversations I can’t even bear to tell.

Oh, and we also went into the Jacuzzi where I drowned because I can’t swim. Sad Life.
