Day 12: Araby

“Araby” portrays a story of childhood foolishness and infatuation that ultimately results in failure. And though I’m no longer a child, I can definitely relate to the previous experiences faced by the tragic character.

Whichever the case, it was time for Day 2 of professional development at Bright Star Secondary Charter Academy. In the morning we had our “wellness” session, where we did more meditation sessions and then went for a literal “walk in the park.” Actually, we avoided the park due to the amount of homeless persons and deviants that could have potentially have attacked us. But it was chill. Kind of boring though.

History session was useful since we got to start our Scope and Sequence for the year. Best department?!??! Most definitely.

I don’t know why I look like that in that picture. We had tacos for lunch. Of different breeds though. No dog flavor unfortunately.

In the afternoon I learned how to make things fun in class using a variety of different activities. Unfortunately for me, it was the exact same session I went to last year. Oops.

Later that day, I went to meet my friend at Chipotle. Unfortunately we both showed up at different locations (due to my mistaken GPS). Who would have thought there would be two Chipotles in such a small vicinity?

We went to Target afterwards where I bought some home goods. Look below at the picture. So many losers at the back to school session.

In all honesty when I was a kid I always looked forward to back to school shopping. It was definitely an exhilarating experience, much in the same way Araby’s pursuit of his crush was. Whereas Araby unfortunately failed, I succeeded in my quest for cheap school supplies.
