It’s #Phase7 of #Project26, and each corresponding blog post for the next 26 days will align with an music album that I thoroughly enjoy. The first being of course Avril Lavigne’s Let Go. Sometimes, you need to let things go, in order to set them free. Today was my last day with the 7th graders (in history class at least), and I ended with the finale of Freedom Writers, some memorable quotes, a poem, and a personalized letter for each student.

Students loved the letter, so much so that some started crying over it.

That being said, today was also great in a plethora of other ways, because I finally received my America’s Got Talent check, where I fundraised 1404 dollars for the school (for bringing 117 people to a tv taping).

Afterwards, the entertainment didn’t stop with some food at FatBurger/PizzaRev, and a rather unnecessary conversation about institutional racism that continued in a teacher’s classroom.
Anyway, I hope I can continue to let things go in the future, if they continue to piss me off (i.e. lack of proper planning, and poor communication).
