Day 10: Noelle Herrera

A common trend that often occurs in life are relationships built out of convenience. Whether it’s based on the clubs you’re in, the school that you’re at, the area in which you live, or the places of employment you work, sometimes friendships are only meant to last for a designated portion of time. As much as I’d like to hold onto all the relationships I have built over the years, I know that it is not sustainable. With that in mind, everyone you come into contact with in this world, you are meant to for a specific reason. That being said, I am glad after working at Fairmont Summer Programs for 2 consecutive summers together, Noelle and I are still as good friends as ever, and that the friendship built out of conveniently working together has now surpassedĀ those moments.

Fairmont is a chill environment to work in, and sometimes equally as funny and dysfunctional. That being said, it was great to have had the experiences that come with working with annoying children together. In her times as a lifeguard, Noelle always kept a rather calm, and yet friendly demeanor to both children and the staff around her. She has always been a supportive and respectable younger sister to her older brother Nick. And she was one of the few employees that rarely ever not do what they were supposed to, which was something I highly respected. It was nice working together with her, for the most part.

Of course, it was the after-work hours that were the most entertaining, which involved various activities (including Korean BBQ, Phil’s BBQ, some drinking, and obviously going to watch FREE MOVIE SCREENINGS).

Nothing will of course supersede the time we saw Justin Bieber at the Orange County fair of course.

Now, as both teachers working in completely different schools, we have many relatable experiences that can be shared for ages to come. And, I hope we can continue to watch free movie screenings and share different foods in the future FOR LIFE. Thank you for always being friendly, and keeping it real.

Phil’s BBQ > Korean BBQ. Just saying. #26reasonswhy
