Today was the first day back with the students, and it was rather chaotic, dealing with the schedule change and whatnot. I’d rather not talk about it. I did enjoy seeing them again though (other than an unsuccessful circle, it was an entertaining day).
I punished myself afterwards by going on my first “Night Hike” ever, starting from Silver Lake library to the Chandelier Tree. We hiked up 10 different staircases, it took roughly two hours, and I made the foolish decision of not bringing water. I survived though.
It was rather anti-climatic though, because the machine was jammed by the time we got to the tree, so it didn’t light up. So the picture below is pretty lame. I was going to google a photo instead to replace it, but I thought that would be even lamer.
There’s one of the staircases we hiked up. As you can see, it was quite dark on the way up. I wasn’t scared though – not at all.
My legs are surely going to be sore tomorrow.
